This wikiHow teaches you how to delete comments on YouTube. You can delete comments uploaded by yourself or those uploaded by others on your channel. Keep in mind that you can't delete comments that someone has posted on someone else's video. However, you can report obscene comments on any channel if they are spam or show violence. Once reported, comments are immediately hidden so you can't see them.

Method 1 of 2: Deleting Comments
Step 1. Open YouTube
You can open the YouTube app on a mobile device or access https://www.youtube.com/ in a browser.
If you are not logged in to your account, touch the “ ⋮ ” (or click “ Sign in ” on the desktop site) and enter your email address and password to continue.
Step 2. Visit the video with the comments
You can search for a video by typing its name in the YouTube search bar. On mobile devices, this bar can be accessed by touching the magnifying glass icon.
If a comment is uploaded to one of your videos, tap the profile icon, select “ my channel ”, and touch the corresponding video (on mobile devices). You can also click “ my channel ” in the top left corner of the page to select a video (on desktop sites).
Step 3. Locate the comment you want to delete
It's possible that you'll need to swipe to find the comment, especially when you're using the YouTube mobile app.
Step 4. Select
It's in the lower-right corner of the comment you want to delete. After that, a pop-up menu will be displayed.
Step 5. Select Delete or Remove.
You will see the option “ Delete ” when deleting own comments from videos, or “ Remove ” if you want to remove other users' comments from your videos. After that, comments will be deleted immediately (on desktop sites).
On the mobile app, you need to touch the option “ DELETE " or " REMOVE ” when prompted.
Method 2 of 2: Reporting Indecent Comments
Step 1. Open YouTube
You can open the YouTube app on a mobile device or access https://www.youtube.com/ in a browser.
If you are not logged into your account, touch the “ ⋮ ” (or click “ Sign in ” on the desktop site) and enter your email address and password to continue.
Step 2. Find the comment you want to report
You can search for videos with these comments by typing their title in the YouTube search bar. On the mobile app, this bar can be accessed by touching the magnifying glass icon.
Step 3. Select
It's in the lower-right corner of the comment you want to delete. A pop-up menu will appear after that.
Step 4. Select Report (mobile app) or Report spam or abuse (desktop site).
A pop-up window will be displayed with the following options:
- ” Unwanted commercial content or spam ” (“Unwanted commercial content or spam”)
- ” Pornography or sexually explicit material (“pornographic or sexually suggestive content”)
- ” Hate speech or graphic speech ” (“Hate speech or explicit”)
- ” Harassment or bullying ” (“Violence or bullying”) – If you select this option, you will need to specify the type of violence (eg against you or other users) before proceeding.
Step 5. Select an option
Make sure the option you select accurately reflects the comment as you should never misreport a comment.
