Want to try skipping school or work, or kick him out of the house to plan a surprise party or dinner for him, or play the role of a sick person in a drama, or feel lazy and want to rest all day? During these times, knowing how to pretend to be sick can be very helpful.
Step
Method 1 of 5: Understanding Character
Step 1. Choose the disease you want to play
It's best to choose an illness that limits you from major obligations, but not so serious that your friends won't take you to the doctor or hospital, such as a cold, flu, or insect bites. Make sure you know the symptoms you want to portray, and don't act out symptoms other than those symptoms.
Step 2. Begin to mention the symptoms the day before you want to pretend to be sick
If you want to skip school on Monday, pretend you're feeling sluggish from Sunday. Say that you are not feeling well or have a headache. Don't eat too much and sleep early. By doing so, when you show more severe symptoms, you will be more trusted.
Step 3. Train your memory
Remember how you feel when you are sick and other people notice it, as well as what other people notice when you are sick. Try mimicking the symptoms and direct your feelings. You'll find it easier to convince people that you have a disease you've had before, rather than an entirely new one.
Step 4. Make your face pale
If you have green concealer, rub it on your face and forehead to make your face pale. However, don't make your face green. Change the color of your face as needed.
- Make sure you know how to dress effectively. If your makeup is flashy, you're bound to get caught.
- If you dress up, avoid touching. If your make-up wears off when other people touch you, you'll be caught.
Step 5. Pretend to feel dizzy and weak
Walk at a slower and shorter stride. When you stand up from your desk, pretend to lose your balance and place your hands on the table to "balance."
To remember what it's like to feel dizzy, wait until you're alone and go in circles until you're dizzy. Remember how it felt and how you acted afterwards. When you are in front of other people, repeat the behavior in moderation
Step 6. Pretend to be uncomfortable
Sick people won't feel comfortable, so don't be funny, laugh and smile too much. Give the impression that you are confused and "have a world of your own." If you are slow when you are sick, be slow. Don't feel good about doing things that normally make you happy. For example, if you are invited to watch a movie and you normally enjoy doing so, decline the invitation.
Step 7. Be slow
Do not move from bed if possible. The desire to rest and get enough sleep when you are sick is your body's natural reaction to give your body time to fight disease and heal it. When you get the chance, find the nearest couch and sleep on it.
Pretend to shiver in bed, even under the covers
Step 8. Pretend that you are sick of being sick
Being really sick is definitely not fun, and it leaves you behind on a lot of things. Let people know that you actually wanted to come to an activity you missed, and apologize for any inconvenience you might have caused. Don't get too excited because you can rest at home. Say "okay" slowly and pretend to go back to sleep.
Step 9. Do not recover suddenly
If you have successfully convinced others that you are sick, you will be under suspicion if you return to full health the next day after you are sick. If your parents let you stay home, don't smile or act energetic again until a few hours after school ends.
Method 2 of 5: Faking a Fever
Step 1. Make your face hot and sweaty
Fever is a classic disease that is often used as an excuse, because fever is usually a hallmark of infectious diseases and bed rest is usually the best treatment. People who have a fever experience an increase in the temperature of their face and forehead, even though they feel cold. There are several ways to make your face look like you have a fever:
- Take a hot shower without getting your hair wet.
- Dry your face with a hot dryer.
- Rub water on your face to make your face look sweaty.
- When no one is watching, heat your face with a hot water bottle or bag.
- Rub your face with your hands vigorously.
- Lie on your stomach with your face hanging on the edge of the mattress to let the blood flow to your face.
Step 2. Put on layers of clothing and blankets
These clothes and blankets may make you sweat, but people will think you are cold. Pretend to shiver, no matter how thick your clothes are. Cold sweats are an important symptom of a cold or flu.
Step 3. Adapt the thermometer
If a parent or nurse puts a thermometer in your mouth and leaves you, there are several ways to get a false body temperature. However, make sure you don't raise the temperature too high -- your lies may be exposed from the results, or you may be taken to a doctor or hospital to treat the high temperature.
- Drink hot water before placing the thermometer in your mouth.
- Hold the thermometer for a moment against the heat lamp.
- Shake the thermometer from the metal tip to push the mercury into the high-temperature area of the thermometer. Of course, this trick doesn't work on digital thermometers.
Method 3 of 5: Faking Stomach Pain
Step 1. Pretend to be lazy to eat
Take small amounts of food, and don't finish any food, even the food you normally like.
Step 2. Rub your stomach occasionally with a face that shows discomfort
You don't have to say anything at first, but mention your digestive problems (or if you're a child, your stomach) if someone asks.
Step 3. Place a bowl or basin near you
Even if you don't use it, it suggests that you might vomit. Stare at the bowl or basin every now and then with an unpleasant look, like suddenly nauseated.
Step 4. Stay in the bathroom for long periods of time
People with stomach ailments spend long periods of time in the bathroom and repeat them frequently, either because of nausea or diarrhea. You don't have to overdo it to get attention; but going back and forth to the bathroom a few times an hour is sure to get other people's attention.
Step 5. Pretend to vomit
Run to the bathroom and make a loud sound of vomiting, then throw a glass of water down the toilet and flush the toilet. Repeat this step a few times, and "clean up your vomit" for a few minutes before returning in a miserable state.
- Oftentimes, people don't want to see your vomit, so your "acting" out loud will suffice. You can also fake vomit and flush it down the toilet when you pretend to vomit.
- If you eat soup, put the broth in your mouth and pretend to swallow it. After that, spread your cheeks to let out the broth, and run to the bathroom to spit out the broth.
Method 4 of 5: Faking the Flu or Cold
Step 1. Breathe only through your mouth
You'll have a hard time pretending you have a runny nose if your nose is dry, but you can still pretend you're having trouble breathing. Breathe only through your mouth and speak a little slower. Inhale the mucus occasionally with short deep breaths.
Step 2. Chill and pretend to be cold
Wear thick clothes or sleep under layers of blankets. Take a cold shower to keep your skin cool to the touch.
Step 3. Pretend to cough or sneeze
This step is risky, because if not done convincingly, it will get you caught. Faking a cough is certainly easier than faking a sneeze, but a cough can sound forced if you're not careful.
You can also make yourself sneeze by inhaling peppercorns. To do this, sprinkle pepper on your sweater and pretend to rub your nose against the sweater. Inhale peppercorns to make you sneeze
Step 4. Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the lower eyelid to make your eyes water
Make sure the toothpaste is near your eyes, but not in your eyes. Leave the toothpaste on for three minutes so that your eyes burn.
Method 5 of 5: Faking Sick on the Phone
Step 1. Make a different sound
If you need to call your boss to ask for leave, you need to sound like a sick person to avoid suspicion.
- Speak a little slowly. Pause for a few moments in the middle of your sentence. Don't answer too quickly. Remember, right now you are sick and getting slow.
- Try to breathe through your mouth to sound like someone with a runny nose.
Step 2. Pretend you have an infectious disease
Your boss may not care how you feel, but if you transmit the disease, that's a different story. Say that you caught the disease from someone else and that you are currently coughing or sneezing, and your nose is wet.
Step 3. Cough or sneeze, but don't do it in front of the phone
You don't do it when you're really sick, do you? Put your phone slightly away from you and cough or sneeze loudly, then apologize and continue the conversation.
Step 4. Fake the sound of vomiting
Put down a glass or two of water and have a phone conversation while sitting on the toilet. If you really need to sound like a sick person, stop in the middle of a conversation to make a gag sound and pour out the water you brought. The water spill will sound like someone vomiting.
Step 5. Don't overdo it
If you overdo it, you will be suspected easily. If you ask permission to be sick without giving a lot of information, your lies may not be caught easily.
Tips
- Wait for your parents to ask you to rest at home. If they ask for it, your lie is more likely to work than if you asked for it yourself,
- Don't do it too often so you don't get caught easily.
- Pretend you forgot to do simple things like apply deodorant, brush or brush your teeth.
- If you feel heartburn, get up about half an hour from your usual waking hour and eat three or four cloves of garlic.
- Talking a little is better if you talk to the authorities. If you're just saying you need a leave because you're sick, don't tell the boss more details unless asked to. The more complex your lie, the more likely you are to fall into it.
- Making your face red might help. You can make your face red by wearing lots of blush, especially on the cheeks.
- Write down the date, illness, and why you wanted to feign illness. Make sure you don't create obvious patterns that other people might suspect.
Warning
- If you're resting at home, don't get up or do anything else for a while even after your parents leave. They may come back if they left something behind, or want to check on you.
- Don't take medication for symptoms you don't have because they can be dangerous. If the medicine is a pill, put it in your mouth under your tongue, and pretend to swallow the medicine. Throw the medicine away when no one is watching.
- Don't ask for help when you don't need it. If other people find out about your lies, they probably won't believe you when you're really sick.
- Don't fake embarrassing symptoms, especially if you're at school. Coughing, fever, and vomiting are common symptoms, but saying that you are having loose stools will invite a sharp glare.
- Delete this page from your browsing history. You may be questioned if others find evidence that your act was premeditated.
