Do you believe in magic? Even if you don't believe it, there are some easy things you can do to make others believe that you are a real magician. Performing a successful magic trick takes skill, but with a lot of practice you'll be able to do it well!

Part 1 of 4: Preparing the Show
Step 1. Be confident
People will trust a person who is confident more than someone who is less confident in themselves, especially in magic. Even if your trick isn't too big, your confidence will keep the audience from noticing.
The best magicians have charm. They only use a little dexterity and techniques to distract the audience. If you keep a smile on your face and make your personality alluring, they won't notice your hand
Step 2. Start with the basic tricks
Learn simple tricks and slowly work your way up to more difficult ones. Here are some simple tricks to get started:

Step 3. Engage the audience
When you pay attention to the audience, they will believe it. They start to worry about what they have to say and don't think about what you say and do. This is a classic distraction. Look for some articles that can help you get started with magic tricks:

- The "light as a feather" trick is a fun way to engage friends by lifting them up as if they were as light as a feather.
- The "cold reading" trick will make the audience believe that you are a psychic.
Step 4. Use properties
Don't be afraid to use equipment – the scarier it is, the better. Terrify the audience. Equipment can make for a great show and, again, a distraction. The point is to draw their attention to something other than what you're doing. Search the article for some of the following tricks:

Step 5. Use your body
A great magician is always focused on the show. Don't be afraid to take risks! Once you're trained, you can start some mind-boggling physical tricks like:
- The trick comes out of the strapping jacket that will leave the audience holding their breath.
- A floating trick that will also confuse the audience.
Step 6. Remember that audiences come to magic shows to be mesmerized
Don't be afraid to involve a little explosion or use a misting machine. Some good effects for magic include:

- How to make fire in hand is a great special effect and scares your audience.
- How to light a candle without touching the wick will look like you're using magic.
Part 2 of 4: Performing a Simple Card Trick
Step 1. Perform this trick by arranging some cards in your hand
You need a little time without being seen by the audience to set up this trick. Take a deck of cards and make it so that the ace of spades is first on the pile, and the ace of diamonds is fifth. Hold 8 or 9 cards in your hand.
- Place the ace of diamonds "perfectly" behind the second card so that the card cannot be seen. The cards must be lined up perfectly or the trick will fail.
- Turn over the ace of hearts and adjust the cards in your left and right hands so that all the cards cover the two semicircles of the heart shape. The card in the middle (ace of hearts) should look like an ace of diamonds now.
Step 2. Tell the audience that you will read their minds
You don't really read their minds. You won't do anything. But you will say it to distract them from your trick.
Or you can say something else. Prepare the trick your way. If you say you want to turn this card into a rabbit, go ahead. They will understand why you said that at the end of the trick
Step 3. Tell the volunteer audience to check your hands
Ask them what cards there are. If you do the trick correctly, they will only see the “ace of diamonds” card. Ask the volunteer to sit back down.
Step 4. Tell the audience to memorize the cards
This is your "mind-reading" part, and this is again just to set up the trick. Tell them to think long and hard so you can penetrate their minds.
If you want to make this more challenging, tell them to remember a few cards in the pile. You'll be able to read all the cards they can think of (which means more awesome) – or their memory helps your power to get the rabbit out, or whatever
Step 5. Start acting confused with the cards in your hand
Watch the cards in your hand as if you were “thinking the numbers on the cards” and tell them something is wrong. When you say that, slide the card so that the ace of hearts looks like a heart. Just make sure not to shift too much or they'll notice something is off.
- Ask the spectators if they remember all the cards in your hand. They must have started muttering to themselves. When they say ace, say something like, "Yeah! I thought so too." And show the spectator the ace of hearts and not the ace of diamonds. Uh? Why change?
- Make sure the original ace of diamonds is still in the second order of your cards. Don't show it yet.
Step 6. Make it look like someone stole the ace of diamonds
Which audience ruined your trick? Who took the ace of diamonds? Accuse someone (friendlyly, of course) of stealing it and ask for it back. When no one admits to stealing it, say you'll take it back anyway, with magic.
Being confident and relaxing is part of the trick. The more you try to get it to attract and draw the viewer's attention to the cards, the more successful your trick will be. They are there to enjoy the show, not to see real magic
Step 7. Remove the ace of diamonds “magically” from your hands
You can do this any way you want. You can sing to the cards, tell the audience to dance, or tap the deck of cards a few times and call the cards to come up. Tell the spectator you have complete control over the card, and the card will do whatever you say.
Then, when you've done what you did to draw the card, flip it over. You can also tell an incredulous audience to turn it over. Jreng. Too bad you ran out of steam to turn cards into rabbits. Maybe next time
Part 3 of 4: Performing Coin Tricks
Step 1. Take a coin, explain to the audience that you are going to rub it against your skin
You are iron deficient, and your doctor recommends this. The audience can't believe it? Keep an eye on it.
This should be done in a sitting position with no one sitting next to you. You want the audience to sit across from you. If they are by your side, they can see the finesse of your hand
Step 2. Put your hand on your chin and another hand ready to rub the coin against your elbow
Your dominant hand will hold the coin. Place the other hand on the table, clasped apart under your chin.
This position is very important for the success of the trick. You will know the reason in a few seconds
Step 3. Start rubbing then drop the coin “accidentally”
Start rubbing the coin against the elbow resting on the table. Rub, rub, rub. Then… ouch! You are so excited that the coins fall under the table. Does not matter; You will continue to rub.
Try to look unintentional at this point. If you don't act well, the audience will realize this is part of the trick. You want them to think it was a genuine mistake
Step 4. Transfer the coin to another hand
When you pick up a coin, you have two options:
- Grab a coin with both hands, making it look like you're putting a coin in your dominant hand. But actually, you put the coin in the hand that is under the chin.
- Pick it up with your dominant hand, but drop it to the edge of the table with your non-dominant hand waiting underneath. Then raise your hand to return to its original position with the coin in your non-dominant hand.
Step 5. Continue “rubbing”
Continue the trick, Rub the non-existent coin to your elbow. rub. rub. rub. Oh, you can feel it gone! Rub a little more, Then… jreng! Coins have entered your skin. You feel healthier. Where's the coin? Say the coin has entered your skin. The audience will ask for another answer, but you have no other answer!
Can you get the coins back? Hmm. Maybe later. The rubbing event was exhausting – but the audience didn't want to understand
Step 6. Take out the missing coins
When you find the right moment, you can choose to continue with this trick (or you can just finish it). Tell the audience that the coin doesn't go into your elbow. With your non-dominant hand, drop the coin onto your finger. Then, have a spectator come forward and remove the coin from their hair, behind their collar, or behind their ear. Do they also have magic powers?
When they ask for the trick, don't tell them! Otherwise you can no longer fool them (or their friends). Great magicians never tell their secrets
Part 4 of 4: Doing Math Tricks
Step 1. Tell the audience to choose a number between 1 and 10, but not 1 or 10
Why? Say you have mathematical powers; Not only can you point to the number he chose, but you can also say how old he is.
Okay, so this isn't real magic. But if you make it fun, you can wow your friends by manipulating the numbers to your advantage
Step 2. Have him multiply his chosen number by 2
If the selected number is 9, then the result is 18. Pretend like you are also picking numbers in your head. Say something like, “Okay… now add… oh no! Multiply by 2.”
Step 3. Tell him to add the number by 5
The result is 18, and 18+5 = 23. Now, 23 is the number you use.
Step 4. Tell him to multiply that number by 50
You may need a calculator in this section. For example, 23x50 = 1150.
This is the perfect part to give the impression that you are doing it at random. You're just making this number sound big and a little silly, so you can trace it. Whatever comes to your mind, do it
Step 5. Tell them to add up the numbers by 1763 or 1764
Why? Both numbers come "magically" to you. How will your friend choose? If it has a birthday this year, add 1764. If not, add 1763.
Let's just say it's your friend's birthday. 1150+1764 = 2914
Step 6. Tell him to subtract that number from the year he was born
Now it's time for some serious math. If the number is 2914 and he was born in 1988, the result is 2914-1988.
How much is 2914-1988? The answer: 926
Step 7. Ask him to name the final result
With that information, you can find out what number he's thinking and how old he is. The first number is the number he chose and the next number is his age.
- So in our example, your friend is 26 years old; and it chooses the number 9 (which we already know).
- How do you know the answer? Because you are a math magician, that's why.
