The latest Safari mobile browser now has several new features, including private browsing. Enabling the private browsing feature will force your device not to save browsing history, cookies, and cache. This article will walk you through the process of enabling the new private browsing feature on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Method 1 of 3: Using iOS8
Step 1. Open Safari
Step 2. Tap the icon at the bottom right on the layer two squares
Step 3. Tap on the word "Private" in the bottom left corner
Step 4. Tap Done
You are now in private browsing mode. The search bar and bottom bar will turn gray.
Method 2 of 3: Using iOS7
Step 1. Open "Safari"
Step 2. Click the Bookmarks icon at the bottom; this icon has an image of an open book
Step 3. Click on the word "Private" in the bottom left corner
Step 4. Decide if you want to keep all current tabs open for private browsing
Step 5. Click "Done" in the top right corner and continue browsing
You are now in Private Browsing mode.
Method 3 of 3: Using iOS 6 and Earlier
Step 1. Tap the Settings app from the main screen of the device
Step 2. Tap on “Safari” from within the Settings app
Step 3. Change the settings next to “Private Browsing”
Toggle the setting to “ON”.
