This wikiHow teaches you how to download a copy of Outlook contacts. You can download it via the Outlook email website or the Microsoft Outlook program.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Via Outlook.com
Step 1. Open the Outlook site
Visit https://www.outlook.com/ via a web browser. After that, the Outlook inbox will be displayed if you are already signed in to the account.
If you're not logged into your Outlook account, type in your Microsoft email address (or connected phone number) and password to access the account
Step 2. Click the “People” icon
It's an icon resembling two silhouettes in the lower-left corner of an Outlook web page. Once clicked, the Outlook contact page will be displayed.
Step 3. Click Manage
This tab is at the top of the page.
Step 4. Click Export contacts
This option is in the drop-down menu “ Manage ”.
Step 5. Check the “All contacts” option
Click the circle to the left of the " All contacts " option on the right side of the page, under the heading " Which contacts do you want to export? ".
If you see more than one format under the " Select a format to export " section, you can select the desired backup file format
Step 6. Click Export
It's at the top of the "Export contacts" sidebar. Once clicked, the contact file will be downloaded to your computer.
You may need to confirm the download or select a location to save the downloaded file first
Method 2 of 3: Through Windows Desktop Version of Outlook Program
Step 1. Open Outlook
Double-click the Outlook program icon, which looks like a blue and white envelope with a white “O” on it.
Step 2. Click File
It's in the upper-left corner of the Outlook window. After that, a pop-out menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Click Open & Export
This tab is at the top of the File ”.
Step 4. Click Import/Export
This option is under the " Open " heading, on the right side of the page.
Step 5. Select Export to a file
At the top of the box that appears in the middle of the “Import and Export Wizard” window, click “ Export to a file ”.
Step 6. Click Next
It's at the bottom of the window.
Step 7. Click Comma Separated Values, then click Next.
After that, you will be taken to the folder selection page.
Step 8. Select the "Contacts" folder, then click Next
Click the " Contacts " folder in the " Select folder to export from " window. You may need to scroll through the screen to find this option.
Make sure this folder is the " Contacts " folder under your Outlook account name
Step 9. Click Browse
This option is next to the file's destination directory. After that, a new window will open.
Step 10. Enter a file name, then click OK
After that, you will be taken to the next page.
Step 11. Select the export destination, then click Next
Click the folder where you want to save your contacts. Desktop is usually a good choice if you want to re-upload your contacts to another service as soon as your contacts are exported.
Step 12. Click Finish
It's at the bottom of the window. The contacts will be exported to the computer. When finished, the progress window will close automatically.
Method 3 of 3: On a Mac Komputer
Step 1. Open Outlook
Double-click the Outlook program icon, which looks like a blue and white envelope with a white “O” on it.
Step 2. Click File
Menus File It's in the upper-left corner of your computer screen.
Step 3. Click Export
Step 4. Uncheck every entry except “Contacts” and click Continue
Step 5. Select the location to save the contact and click Save
Step 6. Click Finish
It's at the bottom of the window. The selected contacts will be exported. Once done, the progress window will close.
