This wikiHow teaches you how to download Google Chrome bookmarks as a file on a Mac or Windows computer. Once the bookmarks file has been exported, you can upload it to another browser to open from there. Keep in mind that Chrome bookmarks cannot be exported using the Chrome mobile app.

Step 1. Run Chrome
Click or double-click Chrome, whose app icon is a yellow, green, red and blue circle.
Step 2. Click in the upper right corner
A drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Select Bookmarks
It's at the top of the drop-down menu. A pop-out menu will be displayed.
Step 4. Click Bookmark manager located in the pop-out window
Bookmarks Manager will be displayed in a new tab.
Step 5. Open the Bookmarks menu
Click icon ⋮ It's at the far right of the blue banner at the top of the Bookmarks window. A drop-down menu will be displayed.
Don't click the icon ⋮ located to the right of each bookmark or in the upper-right corner of the gray section of the Chrome window. If clicked, the two icons will not display the correct options.
Step 6. Click Export bookmarks in the drop-down menu
A Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows computer) window will open.
If option Export bookmarks no, it means you have clicked the icon ⋮ wrong.
Step 7. Name the file
Enter a name for the bookmark file.
Step 8. Decide where to save it
On the left side of the window, click the folder where you want to save the bookmark file (for example Desktop).
