This wikiHow teaches you how to read an e-book in MOBI format using the Kindle or MOBI Reader app on your iPhone or iPad.

Method 1 of 2: Using the Kindle App
Step 1. Send the MOBI file to your own email address
The Kindle app only displays MOBI books purchased through the app. However, you can download the MOBI file as an email attachment so you can open it in the app. Look for articles on how to send files via email for steps to add attachments to emails.
Step 2. Open the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad
The app is marked by a blue icon and a white envelope, which is usually at the bottom of the screen.
If you use a different app to manage your email, open that app
Step 3. Touch the message containing the MOBI file
The message content will be displayed.
Step 4. Touch Tap to Download
It's at the bottom of the message. The Kindle icon will replace the “Tap to Download” text.
Step 5. Touch the Kindle icon
This icon is where it previously displayed the “Tap to Download” button. The menu will open after that.
Step 6. Touch Copy to Kindle
You may need to scroll through the row of icons above the menu to find this option. After that, the MOBI file will open in the Kindle app.
Method 2 of 2: Using the MOBI Reader App
Step 1. Open the App Store
Usually you can see the icon on the home screen.
Step 2. Touch Search
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Type mobi reader into the search bar
A list of search results will be displayed afterwards.
Step 4. Touch GET on “MOBI Reader”
This application is marked by a blue icon with the words “MOBI” above an open book.
Step 5. Touch Install
MOBI Reader will be downloaded to your iPhone or iPad afterwards.
Step 6. Open MOBI Reader
If you are still in the App Store window, touch the “ Open Otherwise, tap the blue icon with the words “MOBI” and an open book on the device's home screen.
Step 7. Visit the folder containing the MOBI file
If you download files from your browser, they are usually stored in the “ Recently Downloaded ”.
If your MOBI files are saved to an online storage service (cloud service) such as Google Drive or Dropbox, you can add those services to the MOBI Reader app. Touch " Edit ” in the upper right corner of the screen, select the appropriate service, then follow the on-screen prompts to access the file.
Step 8. Touch the MOBI file
The file will be opened for you to read through the MOBI Reader application.
