This wikiHow teaches you how to trim a voice memo that's already on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 1. Open the Voice Memos app on your iPhone or iPad
This application is marked by a white icon with a gray sound wave that is usually displayed on the home screen.
Step 2. Select the memo you want to edit
The memo entries are displayed in a list at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Touch Edit
It's in the bottom center of the screen. After that, the memo will be opened in editing mode.
Step 4. Touch
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen. The trim lines will be displayed on the record.
Step 5. Drag the left trimmer line to the desired starting point of the memo
The part of the memo to the left of the line will be cut or deleted.
Step 6. Drag the right trimming line to the end point of the memo
The part of the audio that is after the line will be cut.
Step 7. Touch Trim
It's in the lower-right corner of the memo. Only the area between the two trimmer lines remains.
Step 8. Touch Original Trim or Save As New Recording.
Option " Original trim ” function overwrites the original memo file with a new file. Meanwhile, the option " Save As New Recording ” function creates a new file and saves the original file as is.
Step 9. Touch Done
The edited voice memo is now saved successfully.
