Instead of printing a single page PDF file on a single sheet, Adobe Reader DC allows you to print multiple PDF pages on a single sheet of paper. This way, you can save paper and view the column of articles on one sheet. The downside is that printed images and text are much smaller and difficult to read. If you want to print multiple copies of the same page on one sheet, you will need to duplicate the pages using Adobe's web tools. This wikiHow teaches you how to print multiple pages of a file on one sheet in Adobe Reader DC.
Step
Method 1 of 1: Printing Multiple Pages of PDF File per Sheet
Step 1. Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader DC
To open a PDF file in Adobe Reader DC, right-click the document and select “ Open with " After that, select " Adobe Reader DC ”.
Alternatively, you can open Adobe Reader DC and click on the “ File ” in the menu bar at the top of the screen, then select “ Open " Select the PDF file you want to open and click “ Open ”.
Step 2. Open the “Print” menu
To open the “Print” menu, click the printer icon in the pane at the top of the Adobe Reader window. You can also find the “Print” menu on the “File” menu.
Alternatively, use a keyboard shortcut " Ctrl + P" on Windows or " Command + P" on the Mac to open the “Print” menu.
Step 3. Change the paper size if necessary
To fit more pages on a sheet of paper, it's a good idea to use a larger size paper such as legal or tabloid paper. If you are using larger paper, click “ Page setup ” in the lower-left corner of the screen. After that, use the drop-down menu next to " Size " to select the type of paper to be prepared. Click " Ok " after it finishes.
Step 4. Click Multiple
This option is under the “Page sizing and handling” heading, on the left side of the “Print” menu.
Step 5. Select the number of PDF pages that need to be printed in one sheet
Use the drop-down menu next to " Pages per sheet " to specify the number of pages printed on each sheet of paper. You can choose between 2 and 16 pages per sheet.
Alternatively, you can choose " Custom ” and use the columns on the right to enter the number of pages per row and column (eg 3 x 2).
Step 6. Determine the order of the pages
Use the drop-down menu next to "Page order" to specify the order or arrangement of pages on the paper. You have four options to choose from:
-
” Horizontal:
” With the “Horizontal” option, the pages will be displayed from left to right per line.
-
” Horizontal Reversed:
” In the “Horizontal Reversed” option, the pages will be displayed from right to left per line.
-
” Verticals:
” With the “Vertical” option, the pages will be printed from the top left corner of the paper. The order of the pages starts from top to bottom, left to right.
-
” Vertical Reverse:
” In the “Vertical” option, the pages will be printed from the top right corner of the paper. The order of the pages starts from top to bottom, right to left.
Step 7. Print the same page multiple times on one sheet (optional)
If you want to print the same page multiple times on a single sheet, an easy way to do this is to click the " Pages " radio button under " Pages to print ". After that, use the field next to that option to type in the order of the pages that need to be printed manually and repeat the number of the pages that you need to print (eg 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, etc.). Separate each page with a comma.
If you want to print a PDF file on both sides of the paper using a single-sided printer, you will need to print the odd-numbered pages first. After that, reload the paper into the printer upside down (pictured side down) and print even-numbered pages
Step 8. Click the checkbox next to "Print page border" (optional)
If you want, you can click the checkbox next to "Print page border". A solid black line will be printed around each page and become a clear marker or “frame” for the pages displayed on the sheet of paper.
Step 9. Determine the page orientation
To change the page orientation, click the radio button next to "Portrait" or "Landscape". The " Portrait " option will print the pages on the paper vertically. Meanwhile, the " Landscape " option will print the pages on the paper sideways.
If you don't like page rotation when switching from “Portrait” orientation to “Landscape or vice versa, uncheck the box next to “Auto-rotate pages within each sheet “
Step 10. Click the checkbox next to "Print on both sides of paper" (optional)
If you want to print the document on both sides of paper, make sure the box next to "Print on both sides of paper" is checked. This option is only available if you are using a two-sided printer and the two-sided printing feature is enabled on the system.
Step 11. Click Print
It's in the lower-right corner of the "Print" menu. The PDF file will print with the specific settings you have defined.
