This wikiHow teaches you how to create an image file that can be used in a document or presentation from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Copying Sheets As Images

Step 1. Open or create an Excel file
Double-click the Microsoft Excel icon that looks like the letter " X" is green, then click the option " File ” in the menu bar at the top of the screen, and:
- Click " Open… ” to open an existing document; or
- Click " New… ” to create a new document.

Step 2. Click and hold the mouse or trackpad button

Step 3. Drag the cursor to select the image you want to create
When dragging the cursor, the selected portion of the Excel document will be marked.

Step 4. Release the click

Step 5. Click HOME
It's in the top-left corner of the window.

Step 6. Click the down arrow to the right of the “Copy” option
This option is at the far left of the toolbar.
On Mac computers, press Shift while clicking the “ Edit ” in the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Step 7. Click Copy as Picture…
On a Mac computer, click “ Copy pictures… ” from the drop-down menu.

Step 8. Select a view
Click the radio button next to an option:
- ” As shown on screen ” to paste the image as it appears on the screen, or
- ” As shown when printed ” to display the image the way it looks when printed.

Step 9. Click the OK button
The image is now saved on the computer clipboard.

Step 10. Open the document to which you want to add an Excel spreadsheet image

Step 11. Click the part of the document where you want to add an image

Step 12. Paste the image
Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V on Windows computers or +V on Mac computers. The previously copied portion of the Excel document will be pasted as an image in the document.
Method 2 of 2: Saving Sheets As PDF Files

Step 1. Open or create an Excel file
Double-click the Microsoft Excel icon that looks like the letter " X" is green, then click the option " File ” in the menu bar at the top of the screen, and:
- Click " Open… ” to open an existing document; or
- Click " New… ” to create a new document.

Step 2. Click File
This option is in the menu bar that appears at the top of the screen.

Step 3. Click Save As…
It's at the top of the drop-down menu bar.

Step 4. Click the drop-down menu “Format: This menu is in the middle of the dialog box.

Step 5. Click PDF
It's at the top of the drop-down menu.

Step 6. Click Save
This button appears in the lower-right corner of the dialog box.
