Do you want to change the sky blue color to red using MS Paint? Or maybe you want to change the yellow boat to green? You can easily change the color of an image using MS Paint with the simple steps below.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Using Eraser
Step 1. If the image you want to change is an image that has already been saved, copy the image into a new document
If you are using Windows 7 or a later version, Eraser cannot be used to delete images that have been saved before being moved to a new document.
- To get started, you'll need to open a new document in MS Paint.
- Use Ctrl-Shift-C (or select the Copy button located on the Edit menu) to copy the image.
- Click on a new, blank document. Use Ctrl-Shift-V (or select the Paste button on the Edit menu) to copy the image into a new document.
Step 2. Look for the color picker toolbar
This toolbar consists of a row of colors located in the menu at the top. On this toolbar you will find the color boxes labeled Color 1 and Color 2.
You can find the Edit Color option at the far right of the toolbar
Step 3. Select the color you want to change in the color picker
If you want to change the yellow color of the text in an image, hover over it and click on the yellow text.
- If you want to make sure the color you want to replace is correct, use the Sample tool to enter that color in the color picker. The Sample button is at the top of the menu, right next to Eraser. This button has an image similar to an eyedropper. Click the button and click the area whose color you want to change so that MS Paint can recognize the color.
- After that, save the color as a custom color.
- To do this, click Edit Colors. A box with the row of colors and colors you just picked will appear. Click the "Add to Custom Colors" button in the upper-right corner of the box and click OK.
- The color you pick will appear on the top toolbar. Click the color and click the Color 1 box so that the color you choose replaces the Color 1.
Step 4. Choose the color you want to use to replace the color in the image
Specify the new color you want to use from the toolbar located above. For example, you can use blue to replace the text color that was previously yellow.
Click Color 2 on the toolbar and choose a replacement color from the available colors in the color picker. For example, you can choose blue instead of yellow
Step 5. Choose Eraser
This feature is located on the toolbar at the top. This tool has an icon similar to a rubber eraser. Your cursor will turn into a yellow square or circle once the button is pressed.
- After that, hold down right-click while moving the cursor on the part of the image you want to change. Colors that are "removed" in this way will be immediately replaced by the new color.
- You can also speed up the color changing process by enlarging the cursor using the CTRL + key.
Method 2 of 2: Using Invert Colors
Step 1. Invert Colors cannot be found on the top toolbar
MS paint 6.1 and later versions do not provide this feature in the toolbar.
Invert Colors can be used to change the colors in a logo or image without having to replace all the colors in the image
Step 2. Click the image
Select the entire image if you want to invert all the colors in the image. You can also invert the color of certain parts of the image by selecting the part you want to invert the color of.
Step 3. Right click on the image
Move the cursor to the "Invert Color" option on the right-click menu (not "Invert Selection").
- Click. The colors in the selected part of the image will be inverted.
- You can also use Ctrl-Shift-I.
