Feebas is one of the most difficult Pokémon to find in the Pokémon Emerald game because of the many places you have to go to find it. The discovery of Feebas can help you get Milotic, which can pay for all your struggles. Other than that, Feebas is a great Pokémon to trade. Follow this guide to get Feebas in Pokémon Emerald.
Step
Step 1. Go to Route 119
This is the only area in Pokémon Emerald where Feebas can be found. Route 119 can be found at the top of the map, and connects the town of Fortree and Route 118.
- You need a bicycle to reach the area above the waterfall.
- Bring a Pokémon with the ability to Surf with you so you can navigate through water areas.
Step 2. Start fishing
There are many areas of water on Route 119, but Feebas can only be found on six tiles or squares at a time. The appearance of Feebas in the six tiles is determined randomly, so where you find Feebas may differ from where your friends find them.
Step 3. Use a Pokémon with the Surf ability to help you fish in all water areas
Step 4. Use the Super Rod
You can use any fishing rod to catch Feebas, but the Super Rod can only catch Feebas and Carvanha, so it's easier for you to know if you caught them or not.
Step 5. Fishing following the pattern of the fishing grounds
Start at the head of the river, then move back and forth, upstream to downstream, as you move south. Make sure you stop in each area as much as possible.
Step 6. Fish in each water patch five times
Feebas usually won't appear the first time you fish in a tile. To make sure that you don't miss a good patch, fish in each patch of water five times.
Carvanha can appear in the same tile as Feebas
Step 7. Catch some Feebas
Once you've found Feebas in a tile, catch a few more while you're still fishing in that tile. You can catch several Feebas in the same place, and the place won't change even after you leave the area. You can use the extra Feebas you earn to trade with other players who want to get Feebas right away, without wasting much time searching for them.
Step 8. If you wish, you can replace (re-randomize) the position of the existing water plots
If you feel that reshuffling the swath of water can help you find Feebas, try talking to a kid standing outside Dewford Town Hall. Enter a new trendy phrase (a special word or expression) to re-shuffle the existing water tiles so that Feebas' position will change. However, keep in mind that once the tiles are reshuffled, Feebas can only be found on Route 119.
- There is no particular trendy phrase that can make finding Feebas easier. Each trendy phrase only serves to randomize the water tile where Feebas is found, and the appearance of the same trendy phrase in two games can make a difference to the tile's location.
- You can still get Feebas without having to use trendy phrases.
Step 9. Use the Pro Action Replay code
If you want to take a shortcut to get Feebas, you can use the Pro Action Replay secret code system to make it easier for you to catch Feebas (article in English). You'll need to enter both codes (as listed below) so Feebas becomes the next Pokémon you find in the wild.
