This wikiHow teaches you how to purchase and download Xbox 360 games to your Xbox 360 console, as well as to your Xbox One console if the downloaded games are compatible with the console. You can buy and download games from the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, as well as the Xbox website.

Method 1 of 3: Via Xbox 360
Step 1. Turn on the console and Xbox 360 controller (controller)

Step 10. Check the progress of the game download process

Press the “Guide” button, then pay attention to the name displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. The name must match the account you want to use to download the game.

Step 4. Select Search and press the button A.

Type in the name of the game you want to download.

Method 3 of 3: Via Xbox Website
Step 1. Visit the Xbox 360 game page
After that, an official list of all available digital downloads for the Xbox 360 will be displayed.
If you wish to redeem a code, you cannot redeem it via the Xbox website. Try downloading the game through the Xbox 360 console
Step 2. Select the game you want to download
Click the most purchased game at the top of the main page, or type the name of the game into the search bar in the upper-right corner of the page, press Enter, and click the desired game.
If the game has an Xbox One version, make sure you click on the game with the green and white " Xbox 360 " bar running across the top of the icon
Step 3. Click Buy game

- You may be asked to sign in to your account at this stage. If so, enter the email address and password you used to sign in to your Xbox LIVE account.

Tips
If you have a disc version of an Xbox 360 game that you want to add to your Xbox One, you can insert the disc into your Xbox One console to check for backwards compatibility. If the game is compatible with the Xbox One, it will immediately download to the console
Warning
- Not all Xbox 360 games are compatible with Xbox One.
- If the game you want to play was produced in two versions, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, you cannot install the Xbox 360 version of the game on the Xbox One.
