Voicemail is a standard feature included with most cordless phone plans. You'll need to choose a pin, or password, and record a greeting to start using it. These instructions will guide you through the setup process with 4 popular wireless service providers: AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile.

Method 1 of 4: Setting Up Voicemail with AT&T
Step 1. Turn on your phone
Fully charge it, if it's a new model phone.
Step 2. Make sure you set up voicemail within 60 days of activating your data plan
Otherwise, the mailbox will be deleted from your account.
Step 3. Press the number 1 on your phone
Keep pressing until you hear the voicemail menu.
Step 4. Choose a 4 to 15 digit number to be your password
Enter if prompted..
Step 5. Record your personal voicemail greeting in the next command
Press the fence button when you have finished recording.
Step 6. Press the star button any time to return to the voicemail menu and access other options
Step 7. Press and hold the number 1 on your phone to access voicemail
Type your password. Messages are played in order from oldest to newest.
You can access voicemail from your landline by dialing your mobile number, including the area code. Press the star button and enter your password when prompted
Method 2 of 4: Setting Up Voicemail with Verizon
Step 1. Fully charge your phone once your account is set up
Step 2. Press *86 and then send button on your phone keypad
Step 3. Press the fence button to proceed to the setup menu
Step 4. Wait for prompts to set password, name and greeting
Step 5. Dial *86 and send to access your voicemail at a later date
If you want to access it from a landline, dial your mobile number. Press the fence button when you hear your greeting. Enter the password and press the fence button to gain access
Method 3 of 4: Setting Up Voicemail with Sprint
Step 1. Charge your phone completely
Make a call to test whether your account is active or not.
Step 2. Press the number 1 on your phone
Hold for a few seconds.
Step 3. Wait for the prompts
When you first call the voicemail system, you will be asked to create a passcode (passcode). This code must contain between 4 and 10 digits.
Step 4. Record your name when prompted
Step 5. Record your greeting in the next command
Step 6. Decide if you prefer to access voicemail without a passcode from your phone, or if you want to enter the passcode every time you access it
This direct route is called One-Touch Message Access. However, choosing to enter a passcode will make your voicemail more secure.
Step 7. Select the message command when you receive a new voicemail to transfer to your voicemail
Press and hold the number 1 to go directly to the message, if you have selected One-Touch Message Access.
Access your voicemail via landline by dialing your mobile number. Press the star button as long as you open the message. Then, type in your passcode. You will always need a passcode if you choose this method
Method 4 of 4: Setting Up Voicemail with T-Mobile
Step 1. Charge your device as soon as you receive it
Step 2. Unlock the phone, if you haven't already
Make calls and write text messages to make sure all services are activated.
Step 3. Dial the number 123 on the phone
You can also press and hold the number 1.
Step 4. Wait for a menu to appear
If you are asked to type your password for the first time, you will need to dial the last 4 digits of your mobile number.
Step 5. Select the menu to select a new password
This can be any combination of numbers containing between 4 and 7 digits.
Step 6. Wait when prompted to record your name and greeting
If you don't hear the prompt, you can listen to it in the main menu and dial the number associated with recording a new message.
Step 7. Access your voicemail by typing 123 and pressing Send/Call on your phone
Press the Start button to listen to the new voicemail.
