After setting up a landline through Time Warner, you can set up voice mail on a landline or other phone (as long as you know the voicemail access number). Once your voice mail is activated, you can check it anytime, on any phone.
Step
Step 1. Access the voicemail system by dialing *98 on your Time Warner landline service
Call your personal voice mailbox access number if you access your voice mailbox from a phone other than a Time Warner phone. Consult your landline's start guide to find your voice mail access number, or call Time Warner directly at 800-892-2253
Step 2. Enter your 10 digit phone number with the phone keypad when prompted
Step 3. Enter the PIN in the form of the last 4 digits of your phone number with the phone keypad when prompted
This PIN is a temporary PIN.
Step 4. Change the PIN number
If you changed the PIN number before setting up voicemail, use the PIN number you set. If not, enter a new 4-digit PIN of your choice. Press the # key to confirm the PIN.
Step 5. Re-enter the 4 digit PIN to confirm the new PIN
From now on, you'll need to use a new PIN to access voicemail
Step 6. Record the name when prompted
Say the name over the phone, then press #. The system will save your name.
Step 7. Select one of the following options after mentioning the name:
- Press 1 on the phone key to use the name in the voicemail greeting.
- Press 2 on the phone button to hear the recorded name.
- Press 3 on the phone button to re-record the name.
Step 8. Record the greeting
After recording your name, you will be asked to record your greeting in the form of your voice. Say the greeting you want over the phone, then press # when you're done to save the voicemail settings.
This greeting will be used each time a phone call is diverted to your voice mailbox
Step 9. Select one of the options below after recording the greeting:
- Press 1 on the phone button to use the recording of the voicemail greeting.
- Press 2 on the phone button to hear the recorded greeting.
- Press 3 on the phone button to record a new greeting.
Step 10. Hang up the phone once you are done setting up the voice mail greeting
Your Time Warner voice mailbox is now set up and can be accessed at any time by dialing *98 from a landline, or by calling the voice mailbox access number from another phone.
Tips
- The Time Warner voicemail service will only store voicemails for 40 minutes. Check messages regularly and delete messages that are not needed to prevent the voice mailbox from filling up.
- You can also set up voice mail from a phone other than your Time Warner landline.
- You are not charged for setting up voice mail.
