When you're getting ready to go to school in the morning, you'll want a hairstyle that's simple and quick to do, but still looks cool to make you stand out. The styles below can be applied to any outfit and any hair type. Take a few minutes to style your hair before you leave the house for school.
Step
Method 1 of 15: Side Braid
Step 1. Comb the hair towards the left or right hand
Step 2. Braid your hair above your shoulders
Leave your hair loose or make a tight braid.
Step 3. Use hairspray and bobby pins to maintain the look
This will ensure that your braid won't unravel throughout the day.
Method 2 of 15: Cross Clips
Step 1. Gather two sections of hair from the top of your head, then pull them back
Take strands from around your face to give it a pretty look.
Step 2. Cross the two halves at the back of your head
Clamp with cross clips. Position it horizontally to keep the strands from falling apart.
Step 3. Leave the rest of the hair loose
You can curl, straighten, or leave your hair natural.
Method 3 of 15: Fish Tail Braid
Step 1. Divide the hair into two sections
Comb it so that the hair is tangle free.
Step 2. Cross the bunch from right to left
Take the bunch from the right outer edge and cross them. For a more elaborate fishtail braid, use very few strands of hair.
Step 3. Cross the bunch from left to right
Take the bundle from the left outer fringe and cross it, making sure that it crosses over the strand of hair from the other side.
Step 4. Continue alternating crossings
As you get closer to the bottom of your hair, you'll start to see a fishtail pattern forming.
Step 5. Tie the ends with a ponytail tie
Method 4 of 15: Socks Wavy Bun
Step 1. Cut the fingertips from an old sock
Long socks will be very effective for this method. Roll the sock so that it looks like a donut.
Step 2. Spray your hair with water
This will help keep your hair wavy as it dries in the sock bun.
Step 3. Form a high ponytail and use rubber to tie it
Pull this pigtail over the sock you've rolled up.
Step 4. Straighten your hair through the holes
Start at the top of the ponytail, and work the ends of the hair underneath. Repeat this step as you slowly bring your hair through the sock.
Step 5. Secure the bun at the base of your ponytail
You can use a rubber band or hair clip to do this.
Step 6. Let your hair dry in a bun
You can sleep or go outside while wearing it.
Step 7. Unravel your hair
When you take them out of your socks, your hair will look wavy. Spray with hairspray to maintain the waves.
Method 5 of 15: Classic Ponytail
Step 1. Decide whether you will use a neat or messy ponytail
If you want a neat ponytail, comb your hair and consider straightening it before you continue. If you want a messy ponytail that's equally beautiful, leave your hair in its natural state.
Step 2. Gather the hair at the back of your head
Choose a height level, whether low, medium, or high.
Step 3. Comb the hair to prevent tangling
You can use a comb or your fingers to collect the hair to make a ponytail. If you want to create a messy pigtail, you don't need to untangle the tangles.
Step 4. Tie with a hair band
Make sure the rubber is tight enough so your ponytail doesn't unravel. Keep it simple or add cute bobby pins. You can also add a headband.
Step 5. Try a cool twist
Take a small section of hair from your ponytail. Bring it around the hair tie and secure it with bobby pins. This will create an elegant look that covers your hair tie.
- Use tongs that match your hair color so the pins aren't too obvious.
- To liven up your ponytail, you can use a hair band as an alternative to the usual hair tie. You can also cover your hair band with the tape.
Method 6 of 15: Plain Bun
Step 1. Try a bun in a messy style
Make a neat ponytail. Twist the remaining hair around the base of the ponytail, at the location of the bobby pins. Tie a hair band, then pull a few strands at random.
Step 2. Try a sporty bun
Pull the hair like when you make a ponytail. However, when you use a hair band, do only two twists. The third time, pull only half of your ponytail. Remove a few strands if needed.
Step 3. Try a neat classic bun
Take a small section of hair at the top of your head. Make a bun the second way. Divide the rest of your hair in half. Take the right section and loop it around your head, including the first bun. Do the same with the left side of the hair. To give it a prettier look, add flowers, ribbons, etc.
Method 7 of 15: Half Ponytail
Step 1. Divide your hair into two layers
There should be a top and bottom layer for this type of ponytail.
Step 2. Take the top layer
Pull it back and away from your face, just as you would a regular ponytail. Tie with a hair tie.
Step 3. Let the rest of your hair loose
You can curl or straighten the rest of the hair, or leave it in its natural state.
Step 4. Finish using colorful rubber bands or bobby pins
Method 8 of 15: Braids
Step 1. Part your hair
Do it from the center or the side (for an older look). Comb hair to keep it tangle free.
Step 2. Divide the hair into two sections
Tie one section to arrange the next, using bobby pins.
Step 3. Braid the first section and tie a hair band
Do the same for the other part.
Method 9 of 15: Half Ponytail with a Twist
Step 1. Divide your hair into two layers, top and bottom layers
Step 2. Take the top layer and separate the two small clusters on either side of the head
Use hair clips.
Step 3. Tightly twist these two bundles, then secure them over your head using bobby pins
Method 10 of 15: Sock Bun
Step 1. Cut the fingertips from an old sock
Long socks will be very effective for this method. Roll the sock so that it looks like a donut.
Step 2. Form a high ponytail and use rubber to tie it
Pull this pigtail over the sock you've rolled up.
Step 3. Straighten your hair through the holes
Start at the top of the ponytail, and work the ends of the hair underneath. Repeat this step as you slowly bring your hair through the sock.
Step 4. Secure the bun at the base of your ponytail
You can use a rubber band or hair clip to do this.
Step 5. Use hairspray to prevent your bun from unraveling
Method 11 of 15: Side Ponytail
Step 1. Choose between a neat side ponytail or a messy one
To create a neat, take more time to straighten your hair. For the messy, just as beautiful, leave the hair in its natural state.
Step 2. Bring all your hair to one side of the head, either to the right or to the left
Step 3. Gather your hair into a ponytail slightly below and behind your ears
The ends of the ponytail should be above your shoulders.
Step 4. Use a hair band
Step 5. Use hairspray or bobby pins to strengthen loose strands
Method 12 of 15: Standard Quiff
Step 1. Arrange your hair in a ponytail
You can keep this ponytail or twist it into a bun, as both styles go well with the standard quiff look.
Step 2. Gather your bangs
If you don't have bangs, pull some hair near your forehead - out of your ponytail.
Step 3. Smooth the hair upwards with a hairbrush and twist it
This will add the volume of hair needed to form a standard quiff.
Step 4. Pin the hair back
Keep the hair twisted so that the volume is maintained. Use hairspray or a little water.
Step 5. Push the hair forward to form a quiff style
This style will look like a trendy bulge on the top of the head. Don't push your hair too much. The quiff hair look should not be too big or thin. Make sure you comb your hair back properly.
Method 13 of 15: Elvis Presley's Quiff
Step 1. Comb your hair
Make sure your hair is tangle free and easy to manage.
Step 2. Divide the hair into three ponytails
Leave the hair at the top of the head, and divide the hair underneath into three balanced ponytails. Use a ponytail for each pigtail. Make sure these ponytails overlap under each other's heads, not across them.
Step 3. Remove the first pigtail and comb it upside down
Hold it straight and comb it from the ends of the hair towards the roots. This will give it volume and texture. Continue until the hair is standing.
Step 4. Pin it near the top of the head
Use hairspray to maintain volume and place.
Step 5. Comb the hair that comes out above the section that has been combed backwards, towards the back
Trim this part very gently, using a comb. Do this so that the hair covers the part that is combed backwards, giving it a soft look.
Step 6. Remove all the ponytails and comb your hair straight back
Method 14 of 15: Layered Ponytails
Step 1. Divide your hair into four sections
All of these sections should overlap in a line from the top of your head and toward the nape of the neck.
Step 2. Tie the first part into a ponytail
Step 3. Tie the second part into a ponytail, adding the first one
Step 4. Repeat for each section
The result is a layered look that is beautiful and more attractive than a regular ponytail.
Method 15 of 15: Ultraflex Quiff
Step 1. Comb your hair
Make sure your hair is tangle free and easy to manage.
Step 2. Divide the hair into three ponytails
Leave the hair at the top of the head, and divide the hair underneath into three balanced ponytails. Use a ponytail tie for each pigtail. Make sure the ponytails overlap under each other, not across them.
Step 3. Remove the first pigtail and comb it upside down
Hold it straight and comb it from the ends of the hair towards the roots. This will give it volume and texture. Continue until the hair is standing.
Step 4. Spray hairspray
Hairspray will help hair maintain volume and stay in place.
Step 5. Comb the hair that comes out above the section that has been combed backwards, towards the back
Trim this part very gently, using a comb. Do this so that the hair covers the part that is combed backwards so that it gives a soft look.
Step 6. Remove all the pigtails and gather your hair again
You can collect them in a pigtail or bun. Keep it in position by forming a pigtail again, then you are ready to go to school.
Tips
- Make sure your hair is dry after showering if you want to straighten it, or it will take you at least an hour to do this.
- Don't use too much hairspray or your hair will be more difficult to manage, hairspray will also affect the ozone layer! Also, your hair will look greasy and of course you won't want this! Use an oil or water based spray.
- Don't use hairstyles that all your friends have, choose the style you like best so you can make it unique to your hair. If you have baby hair around your hairline, you can style it for a modern look.
- When curling your hair, use hairspray so that the results last longer.
- Try using hot rollers, which give curly results when braiding. You will also get the same wave without any curling.
- Twist the hair to help shape the ponytail. Use a hair tie after you've twisted it (it won't make your hair frizzy.)
- If you don't want to use heat energy to curl your hair, you can braid your hair and leave it overnight. In the morning, your hair will be curly/wavy. You can straighten it back by washing your hair (using shampoo and conditioner), then blow drying it after you've brushed your hair many times. Use hairspray to keep your hair straight.
- Try not to wear the same hairstyle every day as it can damage your hair. Also try blowing your hair once or twice a week, or more often.
- Almond oil or coconut oil can make your hair look stiffer.
- Sweeping your hair with your fingers around the curls can make your hair look more natural. If you spray your hair with hairspray, run your fingers to prevent the hair from becoming stiff and hard.
- If you bend your hair after it's wet and go to bed, then the curls will look beautiful and very pretty.
- You won't be able to do it right away, so try it on a weekend. You can use a small amount of hair gel and water to blend and direct it properly.
- Don't use a towel to dry your hair! Hair will be split ends and dry and reduced in volume and shine. Use a hairdryer, but be careful.
