This wikiHow teaches you how to switch to a different date in the Street View view on Google Maps so that you can view photos/past street conditions via a desktop internet browser.
Step
Step 1. Open the Google Maps site via an internet browser
Type maps.google.com into your browser's address bar, then press Enter or Return on your keyboard.
Step 2. Look for the orange “Street View” icon
This button looks like the little orange human icon that appears in the lower-right corner of the map. This option allows you to view photos or actual road conditions at available locations.
Step 3. Drag and drop the orange human icon on the map
After that, the map view will switch to “Street View” view and photos of the selected location will be displayed from a first-person perspective.
Step 4. Click the “Street View” date in the top left corner of the screen
The current “Street View” display date will be displayed below the location address, in the upper left corner of the screen. Once clicked, a pop-up window will appear and you can change the date through that window.
Step 5. Drag and drag the time slider to the year you want to view
Click the slider at the bottom of the pop-up window and drag it to one of the available year options. You can preview the selected year in the pop-up window.
Step 6. Click the preview image in the pop-up window
After that, the “Street View” display will be changed according to the selected date. You can now “walk around” and view pictures of the neighborhood from the date you selected.
