By connecting the Nintendo Wii to a Wi-Fi network, you can access the Internet via the Wii without using a wired connection. The Wii can be connected to any nearby Wi-Fi network if you know the network security password.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Connecting the Wii to a Wi-Fi Network

Step 1. Turn on the Nintendo Wii console, then press the "A" button on the Wii controller
The Wii's main menu will appear.

Step 2. Select the "Wii" button located in the lower left corner of the screen, then select "Wii Settings"

Step 3. Select the arrow shown on the right side of the screen
That way, you'll access the second page of the Wii System Settings.

Step 4. Select "Internet", then select "Connection Settings"

Step 5. Select “Connection 1: None”, or select another empty connection space
If all connection space is used, select the connection space you want to clear, then select "Clear settings". The Wii cannot be connected to a Wi-Fi network if you are not using the free connection space

Step 6. Select “Wireless Connection”, then select “Search for an Access Point”

Step 7. Select "OK"
The Wii will scan for all nearby Wi-Fi networks, then display a list of networks found on the screen.

Step 8. Select the wireless network you want to connect to the Wii, then enter the password or network security key, if necessary
If you don't know the network password, try contacting your network administrator and provide the information next to the "security key" on the router, or contact the router manufacturer for a standard password

Step 9. Select "OK" three times in the message that appears
The wireless network settings will be saved and the internet connection will be tested.

Step 10. Select "Yes" when the Wii displays a message that the connection has been tested
The Wii will be connected to the Wi-Fi network of your choice.
Part 2 of 2: Troubleshooting Wii Connection to Wi-Fi Networks

Step 1. Try to re-enter the router security code if you encounter problems with error code 51330 or 52130 after testing the internet connection
The message indicates that the security code entered is incorrect.

Step 2. Try powercycling or restoring the Wi-Fi router settings if the Wii still won't connect to the internet after you've entered the correct security code
By powercycling the router, the network connection can be restored, whereas restoring the router settings will restore the factory default settings, and also restore the username and password to the default settings. Settings on most router brands can be restored by pressing the "Reset" button on the front, back, or side of the router.

Step 3. Close applications or turn off devices that may be using excessive network bandwidth if the Wii still can't be connected to the network or the connection is slow
Some applications and things they do, such as downloading large files, can hinder the process of connecting the Wii to a Wi-Fi network.

Step 4. Try removing furniture and metal objects from around the router and Nintendo Wii if you can't start an internet connection or maintain a stable connection
In most cases, metal objects such as file cabinets or electronic devices such as cordless phones can block the Wi-Fi signal.

Step 5. Call Nintendo's customer support team at 1-800-255-3700 if you are still unable to connect the Wii console to the Wi-Fi network
Nintendo will walk you through another process to resolve the issue, and may also guide you through changing additional settings on the console. Nintendo's customer support team can be reached from 9pm to 10am, on any day.
