This wikiHow teaches you how to block Instagram users, as well as unblock previously blocked users. You can do this through the Instagram app for smartphones and the Instagram website. If you're being bullied by someone who creates a new account after you've blocked it, try reporting the account and making your account private.

Method 1 of 3: Blocking Users Through Mobile Apps
Step 1. Open Instagram
Tap the Instagram app icon which looks like a colorful camera. After that, the main Instagram page will be opened if you are already logged in to your account.
If you're not logged into your account, enter your username (or email address/phone number) to sign in
Step 2. Visit the user's profile in question
Scroll through the main page until you find the user you want to block, then tap their profile photo.

at the bottom of the screen and type in their name or username to search for their profile.
Step 3. Touch the button
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. After that, the menu will be displayed.
On an Android device, touch the “ ⋮ ”.
Step 4. Touch Block
This option is displayed in the menu.
Step 5. Touch Block when prompted
After that, the user in question will be added to the "Blocked Users" list of this profile. This means that the user will not be able to see your uploaded profile or comments.
On Android devices, touch the option “ Yes, I'm sure ' when prompted.
Method 2 of 3: Unblocking Through Mobile Apps
Step 1. Open Instagram
Tap the Instagram app icon which looks like a colorful camera. After that, the main Instagram page will be opened if you are already logged in to your account.

Step 2. Touch your profile tab
It's a tab in the lower-right corner of the screen. After that, the profile page will be displayed.
If you save multiple Instagram profiles on the app, these profile tabs are displayed as your profile photo
Step 3. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. After that, a menu will open.
Step 4. Touch Settings
It's at the bottom of the menu.
Step 5. Swipe down the screen and tap Blocked Accounts
It's in the middle of the page under "Privacy and Security."
Step 6. Select a user
Touch the profile of the person you no longer want to block.
Step 7. Touch Unblock
It's a blue button at the top of the screen. After that, someone's blocking will be undone.
On Android, you will be asked to confirm, Yes, I'm sure after touching the button Unblock.
Method 3 of 3: Blocking or Unblocking Via Desktop Sites
Step 1. Open Instagram
Visit https://www.instagram.com/ via a web browser. After that, the main Instagram page will be opened if you have logged into your account on a computer.
If you are not logged into your account, click “ Log in ” in the lower-right corner of the page, then enter your username (or email address/phone number) and account password.
Step 2. Select the user you want to block
Scroll through the main page until you find the user you want to block, then click on their profile name to go to their account page.
You can also type their username or profile name into the search bar at the top of the Instagram page, then click on the appropriate profile from the drop-down menu that appears
Step 3. Click
It's at the top of the user's profile, right next to their name. After that, the menu will be displayed.
Step 4. Click Block this user
It's at the bottom of the menu. After that, the user will be blocked from seeing or interacting with your profile.
Step 5. Click Block if prompted
After that, the account will be added to the list of users you blocked.
Step 6. Unblock the user
To unblock via the Instagram website, return to the user's profile page, click the button “ ⋯, and click Unblock this user ” on the menu.
Tips
- It would be better if you change the account to private account so that anyone who wants to see your photos will need to send a friend request first.
- If you block someone through the Instagram app, that user will also be blocked when using the Instagram website. The same goes for unblocking.
