Whiteboards are essential in many workplaces. However, if used frequently, the whiteboard can be filled with lines and colors that are difficult to clean. The process of making it look like new again is easy to do and usually only requires a simple cleaning product such as soap or alcohol and a clean cloth. As long as you clean it often, this whiteboard which is useful for notes, presentations, and communication can be used for a long time.

Part 1 of 2: Removing Hard-to-Clean Stains and Permanent Marker Stains
Step 1. Rewrite the stain with a marker
Stains from pens and permanent markers on whiteboards can be very difficult to remove. In fact, ordinary whiteboard marker ink that is left too long (not removed) will stain the whiteboard. To clean such a stain, start by rewriting the stain with a marker.
Step 2. Let the ink dry
This process will only take a few seconds. Then, rub the stain with a cloth or whiteboard eraser.
This is done because the new marker ink will help lift the stains from the whiteboard. This way, when you wipe off the dry ink, the permanent stain will also be lifted
Step 3. If needed, such as for difficult-to-clean stains and permanent marker stains, repeat the process
Cover the stain again with marker ink, dry it, and scrub the board with a cloth or eraser.
Step 4. Clean and wipe the board
After you've removed the permanent stain, clean the board to remove any remaining stains. Wet a cloth with the cleaner and wipe the board with the cloth. Remove any residual cleaner and allow the board to dry. Some of the most popular whiteboard cleaners are:
- Isopropyl alcohol (which is not for consumption)
- Hand sanitizer
- Acetone or nail polish remover containing acetone
- Water mixed with a few drops of dish soap
- All-purpose cleanser (like Mr Muscle)
- Glass cleaner
- Wet wipes
- Spray cooking oil
- Aftershave (products used after shaving)
- Whiteboard cleaning fluid
Part 2 of 2: Cleaning the Whiteboard Everyday
Step 1. Clean the whiteboard once or twice a day
Start cleaning with whiteboard eraser. A whiteboard eraser will remove most marker ink, as long as it's not left there for a few days.
Step 2. Clean the whiteboard thoroughly with liquid
Dampen a clean cloth or sponge with your favorite cleaning fluid. Make sure you do it in a well-ventilated area if the cleaner contains harsh chemicals. Rub the cloth on the whiteboard.
Step 3. Wipe and dry the whiteboard
After the marker ink has been removed, rinse the cloth or sponge with clean water to remove the cleaning fluid. Squeeze the cloth and wipe the whiteboard with a damp cloth. This will remove any remaining cleaning fluid. Then, dry the whiteboard with a clean, dry cloth.
