This wikiHow teaches you how to log into the WhatsApp website or desktop version of WhatsApp by scanning the login code from WhatsApp on your phone. Note that you cannot use the WhatsApp QR code scanner to request QR codes other than the code used to go to WhatsApp on a desktop computer. However, you can use your smartphone to scan other QR codes.

Method 1 of 2: On iPhone
Step 1. Open the WhatsApp Web website
Visit https://web.whatsapp.com/ via a web browser. As long as you are not logged into WhatsApp on this page, you will see a square QR code in black and white in the middle of the page.
If you want to enter the desktop version of WhatsApp, open the WhatsApp desktop program. A QR code will be displayed in the center of the program window
Step 2. Open WhatsApp on iPhone
Tap the WhatsApp app icon, which looks like a white telephone receiver inside a white speech bubble on a green background.
If you haven't logged into your WhatsApp account on your phone, you'll need to enter your phone number and verify it before continuing
Step 3. Touch Settings
It's a gear icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. After that, the “Settings” page will be opened.
If WhatsApp immediately displays the chat, first tap the " Back " button in the upper left corner of the screen
Step 4. Touch WhatsApp Web/Desktop
It's at the top of the screen.
Step 5. Touch OK, got it when prompted
After that, the WhatsApp QR scanner will be displayed.
If you are logged into the WhatsApp website or desktop program on another computer, you need to tap “ Scan QR Code ” is displayed in the middle of the page.

Step 1. Open the WhatsApp Web website

If you want to enter the desktop version of WhatsApp, open the WhatsApp desktop program. A QR code will be displayed in the center of the program window
Step 2. Open WhatsApp app on Android device
Tap the WhatsApp app icon, which looks like a green and white conversation bubble with a white phone inside.
If you're not logged into your WhatsApp account on your phone, you'll need to enter your phone number and verify when prompted before continuing
Step 3. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
If WhatsApp immediately displays the chat, first touch the "Back" button to return to the main WhatsApp page
Step 4. Touch WhatsApp Web
This option is in the drop-down menu. After that, the WhatsApp QR scanner page will open.
Step 5. Touch OK, GOT IT when prompted
The QR scanner will be opened.
If you are already logged into the WhatsApp website or desktop application on another computer, touch the “ + ” in the upper right corner of the screen first.
Step 6. Point the phone camera at the QR code
The phone should be within about 30 centimeters of the computer screen when you aim the camera.
Step 7. Wait for the QR code to be scanned successfully
Once done, the WhatsApp Web webpage will reload and you will be able to view messages and chats in the program window.
Tips
- If you wait too long to scan the QR code, the code will expire. Just click " Refresh Code ” in the middle of the circle shown in the center of the code box to update it.
- You can log out of the computer connected to the WhatsApp account by going to the “ WhatsApp Web/Desktop " on the WhatsApp application and touch " Log out from all computers ”.
