After a new type was introduced in Pokémon X and Y, namely the Fairy type, Eevee got another new change, namely Sylveon. Sylveon is a change of Eevee who has a Fairy type, and has a fairly high Special Defense. How to turn Eevee into Sylveon is not the same as changing Eevee into other forms of evolution. The right way, you can turn Eevee into Sylveon in just 10-15 minutes. Read the steps below to learn how.
Step
Step 1. Capture an Eevee if you don't already have one
You can only get Sylveon through the evolution of Eevee, so of course you'll need Eevee to do so. If you already have Eevee, you can move on to the next step.
- In Pokémon X and Y, Eevee can be found on Route 10, the road between Geosenge town and Cyllage town.
- Eevee can also be caught in Friend Safari, an area where you can use other 3DS users' friend codes to create an area containing a single type Pokémon. Since Eevee is of Normal type, you must use a friend code which will create a safari containing Normal type Pokémon.
- You can also get Eevee by exchanging them from other players.
Step 2. Teach your Eevee Fairy-type abilities
The first requirement you'll need to turn Eevee into Sylveon is to teach her at least one Fairy-type ability. Unlike other Fairy-type Pokemon, such as Clefable, Eevee does not use Moonstone to transform into Sylveon.
- Eevee can learn two Fairy-type abilities when leveled up: Baby-doll Eyes at level 9 and Charm at level 29.
- Note that Eevee cannot learn Fairy-type abilities from the Technical Machine (TM).
Step 3. Get two affectionate hearts from Eevee in Pokémon-Aime
The second condition that must be met is that Eevee must have at least two affectionate hearts for you in Pokémon-Aime. Pokémon-Aime is a new feature introduced in Pokémon X and Y where players can build a loving bond with their Pokémon by petting, feeding it, playing small games, and letting it play with other Pokémon on your team.
Spoil Eevee in Pokémon-Aime until she has at least two affectionate hearts before you move on to the next stage. You can do this before or after you teach her Fairy-type abilities
Step 4. Level up your Eevee
Once the above two conditions are met, level up your Eevee. You can do this by battling outside Pokémon, as well as other Pokémon trainers you meet on the streets. When Eevee's level increases, Eevee will evolve into Sylveon if you have met the two conditions above.
Step 5. Avoid areas of ice cubes or mossy rocks when you level up Eevee
When you level up Eevee in most areas in Pokémon X and Y, Eevee will change to Sylveon if you meet the requirements above. But you should know that there are actually a few exceptions to watch out for, which can cause the Eevee to transform into another evolutionary form you don't want, namely Leafeon and Glaceon. Eevee will change to Leafeon when leveling up in mossy rock areas, and will change to Glaceon when leveling up in icy rock areas, even if you meet the requirements above. in Pokémon X and Y, the places you should avoid when leveling up Eevee are:
- Route 20, which contains a lot of mossy rocks.
- Frost Cavern, which contains ice cubes.
