This wikiHow teaches you how to create a folder on the home screen of your Android phone or tablet.
Step
Step 1. Press the “Home” (circle) button
This button is usually located on the bottom center or front of the device.
Step 2. Touch and hold an app icon
Select an application that you want to put in a new folder with other applications.
The device will emit a short vibration
Step 3. Drag the app icon to another icon
After that, a folder will be created.
Step 4. Touch and drag another app icon to the created folder
If there's no shortcut for the app you want to put in a folder on the home screen, touch the page/app drawer button at the bottom of the screen, touch and hold the icon for the app you want to move, then drag the icon to a new folder
Step 5. Touch the folder
Step 6. Touch Unnamed folder at the top of the folder
The folder may be labeled as “Folder” or “Enter Folder Name”, depending on the device and version of the Android operating system running.
Step 7. Type a name for the folder
Step 8. Touch the tick in the bottom right corner
The new folder can now be accessed via the device's home screen.
