In the dark, your iPhone screen may look too bright, even when set to a minimal brightness level. Most iPhone users opt for a third-party solution to solve this problem, such as a dark screen protector or a jailbreak app. As it turns out, the iPhone actually provides a night mode since iOS 8, as part of the screen zoom setting. You can access these settings with three clicks, but these settings are hidden very deep in the accessibility settings.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Setting the Night Mode

Step 1. Open the Settings app
Tap "General", then select "Accessibility".

Step 2. Tap the "Zoom" tab

Step 3. Make sure you select "Full Screen Zoom" to apply night mode to the entire iPhone screen

Step 4. Slide the "Zoom" switch to the "On" position until the button turns green
Your iPhone screen may enlarge or display certain filters, but this has no effect on the next steps.
If the menu view is enlarged and you can't see all the options, double-tap the screen with three fingers to zoom out

Step 5. Triple-tap the screen quickly with three fingers to activate the zoom setting
Slow taps may not be detected, or may be detected as two taps. The two-tap gesture will cause the screen display to shrink or enlarge.

Step 6. Disable the screen zoom function if desired by sliding the zoom button at the bottom of the screen towards the left
To turn off the screen zoom, slide the switch to the 0% position.
Tap the "Hide Controller" option if it exists to hide the zoom controller

Step 7. Click "Choose Filter" on the "Zoom Preferences" menu
After that, select "Low Light", and tap anywhere on the screen outside the "Zoom" menu to close the options.

Step 8. Congratulations, you have now successfully set up night mode on your iPhone
To disable night mode, disable "Zoom" in the settings, or select "None" in the "Choose Filter" menu.
To make it easier for you to turn this filter on and off, read the next steps
Method 2 of 2: Creating a Three Tap Shortcut
To access the night mode settings more easily, you can create a shortcut that activates the screen zoom and the night filter

Step 1. Open the Settings app
Tap "General", then select "Accessibility". After that, tap on "Accessibility Shortcut".

Step 2. Tap the "Zoom" option to add a shortcut

Step 3. Use shortcuts
Once set, you just need to tap the Home button three times to activate the night mode.
If you set up multiple accessibility shortcuts, you'll see an "Accessibility Options" window when you press the Home button three times. Select "Zoom" on the menu
Tips
- When zoom mode is activated, double tapping the screen with three fingers will zoom in or out on the screen. If you accidentally zoom in on the screen, tap the screen again with three fingers to return it to its original size.
- If the entire screen goes black when you zoom in, you may have set the zoom options too far. Double-tap the screen with three fingers to restore it.
