This wikiHow teaches you how to unfollow people you follow on Instagram, either on a mobile device or on a computer. There's no way Instagram offers to unfollow anyone you follow on Instagram all at once. Instagram puts a limit on the number of people you can follow and leave per hour. If you unfollow a large number of users in a short period of time, your account may be temporarily frozen.

Method 1 of 2: On iPhone and Android
Step 1. Open the Instagram app
This app is marked by a colorful camera icon. If you are already logged in to your Instagram account, you will immediately be taken to the main page.
If you are not logged into your account, type in your username (or phone number) and password, then tap “ Login ”.
Step 2. Touch the profile icon
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Touch the “following” segment
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. After that, a list of people you follow will be displayed.
This segment has a number on it that represents the number of users you follow
Step 4. Touch the Following option which is next to the username
You can see this button to the right of each user you follow.
Step 5. Touch Unfollow when prompted
This option will be displayed in a pop-up window. After that, you will unfollow that user.
Step 6. Repeat this process for each account or user you follow
Once done, no one will appear on the " following " list anymore.
Users of multiple Instagram accounts-especially new accounts-are required to wait an hour or more after unfollowing 200 accounts before being able to return to unfollowing other users
Method 2 of 2: On Windows and Mac
Step 1. Visit the Instagram website
You can visit it at https://www.instagram.com/. If you're logged into your Instagram account on a computer, you'll be taken directly to the Instagram feed page.
If you are not logged in, first enter your username (or phone number) and password to access your account
Step 2. Click the profile icon
This profile button is marked with a human icon that appears in the top right corner of the Instagram feed page. After that, you will be taken to the account page.
Step 3. Click the "Following" segment
This segment is at the bottom right of the username that appears at the top of the account page. Once clicked, a list of the users you follow will be displayed.
The " following " segment is accompanied by a number that represents the number of users you follow
Step 4. Click the Following button which is next to the user account
Once clicked, you will unfollow the user and the “ Follow "blue will occupy the position previously occupied by the button " Following ”.
Step 5. Repeat this process for each account/user you follow
Once done, no one will appear on the " following " list.
