This wikiHow teaches you how to remove a Google profile picture from your photo album archive and remove it from your profile page using an internet browser.

Step

Part 1 of 2: Deleting Image Archives

Step 1. Open Gmail via an internet browser

Type mail.google.com into your browser's address bar, and press Enter. Gmail will open your inbox.

If you haven't automatically logged in, enter your email address or mobile number, click NEXT (next), enter the password, and click NEXT again.

Step 2. Click your profile picture

Find the profile picture icon in the upper-right corner of your inbox, then click it. A pop-up box will open.

Step 3. Click the blue My Account button

The My Account menu will open in a new page.

Step 4. Click Your personal info under the "Personal info & privacy" heading

Place this button at the top of the middle column on the My Account page.

Step 5. Scroll down and click About me

This option is between Gender and Google+ settings on the "Your personal info" menu (your personal information).

Step 6. Scroll down and click See all under the "Your album archive" heading

A list of all photo albums will open on a new page.

Step 7. Click the Profile photos album

Step 8. Click the Profile photos album again

The contents of the album will open.

Step 9. Click on your current profile picture

The selected image will open in full screen.

Step 10. Click the three vertical dots icon

It's in the upper-right corner of the screen and will open a drop-down menu.

Step 11. Click Delete photo on the menu

It's next to the gray trash can icon. You need to confirm the action in a new pop-up window.

Step 12. Click DELETE in the confirmation window

The selected image will be deleted and removed from the album archive.

Step 13. Return to About me page

If you've removed the image from the album archive, close this page and return to the About me menu.

When you've closed the About me page, just type aboutme.google.com into the address bar and press Enter on your keyboard

Part 2 of 2: Changing Images

Step 1. Hover over the profile picture

Your profile is currently at the top of the About me page. The camera icon will appear when the cursor is hovered over it with the mouse.

Step 2. Click the camera icon on the profile picture

A new pop-up window will open, and you can choose a new profile picture.

Step 3. Select No photo

It's at the bottom of the pop-up window. When selected, your profile picture will be replaced by a head silhouette icon.

Warning

If the profile picture changes to the old picture, try deleting everything from the album archive and then changing the picture back to No photo.
