This wikiHow teaches you how to enable location tracking in the Google Chrome browser. You can enable tracking on both desktop and mobile versions of Google Chrome. However, the desktop version of Chrome can always access your location even if the sites you visit through the browser don't request tracking.

Method 1 of 3: On Desktop Version of Chrome
Step 1. Open
Google Chrome.
This browser icon looks like a red, yellow, green, and blue ball.
Step 2. Click
It's in the upper-right corner of the Chrome window. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 3. Click Settings
This option is at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Scroll down and click on Advanced
It's at the bottom of the page. Click Advanced ” to show more options at the bottom of the page.
Step 5. Scroll down and click Content settings
This option is under the "Privacy and security" options section.
Step 6. Click Location
It's at the top of the page.
Step 7. Click the blue "Ask before accessing (recommended)" switch
The switch color will change to gray. This way, sites that request your location information can automatically access that information.
- If you don't mind manually granting the sites you visit to access your location, leave the "Ask before accessing" setting enabled. You can still run location services on trusted sites, and block services on other sites.
- When the “Ask before accessing” switch is blue, sites requesting location information will display a pop-up window in the upper-left corner of the page with a “ Allow " and " Block ”.
Method 2 of 3: On iPhone Version Chrome
Step 1. Open iPhone settings menu
Touch the gray gear icon. Usually, you can find the icon “ Settings ” on the device's home screen.
Step 2. Swipe the screen and touch
"Chrome".
You can see this option in the list of apps at the bottom of the “Settings” page.
Step 3. Touch Location
It's at the top of the “Chrome” page.
Step 4. Touch While Using the App
This way, Google Chrome can access your phone's location when you are using the browser, but not when the browser is closed.
Method 3 of 3: On Android Version Chrome
Step 1. Open
Google Chrome.
