This wikiHow teaches you how to use the Smart View feature on an Android device. Smart View functions to switch media to your Samsung Smart TV and control the TV using an Android device. This guide is intended for Android devices and Smart View apps with English settings.

Part 1 of 3: Setting up Smart View
Step 1. Connect Samsung Smart TV and Android device to the same WiFi network
This is done to ensure that the device and Smart TV can be connected.
Step 2. Install the Smart View app on the device
Here's how to install it:

open Play Store
- Type samsung smart view in the search box.
- Touch app Samsung SmartView.
- Touch INSTALL.
Step 3. Open the Samsung Smart View app
This app has an icon shaped like a TV with 4 curved lines below it. You can find this application in the Android device menu.
You can click the green button that says “OPEN” to open the app immediately after it's installed
Step 4. Touch Allow
You only have to agree to the app's permissions the first time you open it.
Step 5. Select Samsung TV when prompted
If there is more than one TV connected to your home WiFi, select one of the TVs to connect to your Android device. The message appears on the TV. If you only have one TV, your Android device will automatically connect.
Step 6. Select Allow on TV
This option will appear at the top of the TV screen. Use the TV remote to select the “Allow” button.

Step 7. Select the app or TV media to open
Once connected, you can use your Android device to select apps on your TV. You can view the entire list of Smart TV apps installed on your TV via the Smart View app. Touch an app to open it on the TV.
You can touch the remote icon in the top right corner to control the TV
Part 2 of 3: Screen Mirroring
Step 1. Swipe down from the top of the homepage
This opens the notification screen and quick settings at the top of the device screen (such as the WiFI button, Bluetooth, etc.).
Step 2. Swipe the top of the homepage down one more time
This will open the entire notification screen and show more quick settings buttons.
Step 3. Touch SmartView or Cast.
This will open a list of devices that can be connected. On some Android devices, this option says “Screen Mirroring.”
If you don't see this option, swipe right to enter the second notification page
Step 4. Select the TV
The Android device screen will be displayed on the TV. All the activities you do on your Android device will be shown on the TV.
In some apps, you can tilt your phone horizontally to make the screen landscape
Part 3 of 3: Showing Media Apps to TV
Step 1. Open the application that will be displayed on the Smart TV
You can open YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, etc.
Step 2. Touch the cast icon on the app
The location of this icon varies depending on the application that is opened. Usually, this icon is in the upper-right corner of the app screen. Look for the rectangular icon with the WiFi band in the lower left corner. This will open a window with a list of devices that can be connected.
Step 3. Select Smart TV
This will connect the app on the Android device to the TV.
Step 4. Play something
The selected video or song will be played on the TV. Therefore, you can continue to use your Android device while playing videos or songs.
