This wikiHow teaches you how to use Samsung's Smart View app on an iPhone or iPad with a Samsung smart television (Smart TV). The Smart View app allows you to run apps on your television, play media from your iPhone or iPad, and use your device as a television remote control.

Part 1 of 3: Setting Up the Smart View App
Step 1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to the same WiFi network as the television
For the Smart View app to detect your television, your iPhone or iPad must be connected to the same WiFi network as your Samsung smart television.

Step 2. Install the Smart View app on your iPhone or iPad
Download and install Smart View on your phone. This app is marked by a television icon with four arrows below it.

- Touch the button “ GET ”.
Step 3. Open Smart View
You can open Smart View on your iPhone or iPad by touching the Smart View icon on the home screen, or tapping the "Open" button next to the Smart View text in the App Store window if you've recently installed the app. The Smart View app will immediately scan for the presence of the Samsung television.
Step 4. Touch your television
The app will display a list of Samsung smart televisions that are connected to the same wireless network.
Touch "Allow" if prompted to allow the app to access photos and videos on the device. These steps must be followed to connect the device to the television and display the media stored on the phone
Step 5. Select the television you want to connect to if prompted
Apps can automatically connect to the television, but if you have more than one television connected on the network, tap the name of the television you want to use. On the television screen, you will be asked to allow the device to connect to the television.
Step 6. Select Allow on the television
Use the television controller to select " Allow " when prompted at the top of the screen. The “Smart View” function on the television will be activated and the television will be connected to the mobile phone.
Step 7. Touch the television app on the phone
Once connected, you can see a list of television applications that are currently installed on the smart television. Touch any app to run it on the television. Additional control buttons may also appear in the app on your phone so you can select additional options.
Step 8. Touch the “Remote” icon
It's the television controller icon in the lower-right corner of the app window. With this option, you can use your iPhone or iPad as a remote to control your television.
Part 2 of 3: Displaying Media from Phone on Television Screen
Step 1. In the Smart View app, swipe the TV apps in the top row towards the left
Scroll through the list of apps in the top row of the app window until you reach the far right of the list.
Step 2. Touch My Photos, My Videos, or My Music at the top.
On this page, you can see a list of all the photos, videos, and music that can be played on Samsung televisions.
Step 3. Select the photo, video or song you want to play
Touch the preview icon of the desired photo, video, or music. After that, the content will play automatically on the television.
Step 4. Touch the back arrow icon to access the main menu
It's a rewind arrow icon in the upper-right corner of the Smart View window.

Part 3 of 3: Broadcasting Content from Media Apps
Step 1. Open the app that can broadcast content on iPhone or iPad
If you have an app that can display or broadcast media (e.g. photos or videos), you can use it to show content on a smart television. Streaming apps like Youtube, Netflix, Hulu, and the like usually have features to stream content to a smart television.
Step 2. Touch
This icon looks like a television screen with a WiFi signal in the lower left corner. It's usually in the upper-right corner of most app windows. A pop-up window with a list of applications that can serve as media publishers will be displayed.
Step 3. Select your television from the list
Touch the television name from the list of available devices. After that, the phone will be connected to the television.
Step 4. Select the content you want to play
In the application, select a song or video to show it on the television screen. For example, if you use the Youtube app, the video you touch will play on the television screen instead of the iPhone or iPad screen. Use the playback control buttons on the app directly to control video playback on the television.
