Method 1 of 3: Closing Recently Accessed Apps on Samsung Galaxy Galaxy S5 or Newer
Step 1. Touch the “Recent Apps” button
This button is to the left of the “Home” button on the front of the device. After that, a list of all recently accessed (but not closed) apps will be displayed.
Step 2. Browse the list of existing apps
Keep scrolling through the list until you find the app you want to close.
Step 3. Touch and drag the app
Drag the app you want to close to the corner of the screen. After that, the apps you dragged off the screen will close.
- Alternatively, touch the “ X ” in the upper-right corner of the app you want to close.
- To close all open applications at once, touch the “ Close All ” at the bottom of the screen.

Step 1. Go to the home screen of your Samsung Galaxy device
Step 2. Press and hold the “Home” button on the device

Step 1. Go to the home screen of your Samsung Galaxy device
Step 2. Open the “Task Manager” (“Smart Manager” for Galaxy S7) program
