This wikiHow teaches you how to manage apps on your Samsung Galaxy device using custom folders and sorting.

Method 1 of 4: Using Folders on Home Screen
Step 1. Touch and hold the app you want to add to the folder
This method helps you create folders on your home screen so you can group apps by type or function.
Step 2. Drag the app to another app
When you lift your finger from the screen, a folder containing both apps will be created.
Step 3. Type in the folder name
You can give a name that describes the apps in it, such as “Work” or “Social Media”.
Step 4. Touch Add apps
This button is at the bottom of the folder page. Now, you can add more apps to the folder.
Step 5. Touch each app you want to add
Each icon displays a circle in its upper left corner. When the app is selected, the circle will be filled.
Step 6. Touch ADD
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. The selected applications will be added to the new folder.
- Once the folder is created, you can drag other apps from any home screen on your device to the folder.
- To delete a folder, touch and hold the folder, select “ Delete folder, and touch " DELETE FOLDER ”.
Method 2 of 4: Using Folders on Pages/App Drawer
Step 1. Open the page/app drawer on the device
You can usually swipe up from the bottom of the home screen, or tap the app menu icon (often a 9 square or dotted icon).
Step 2. Touch and hold the app you want to add to the folder
The menu will be displayed afterwards.
Step 3. Touch Select multiple items
This option is the first option on the menu. Small circles will be displayed in the corner of each application on the page/drawer.
Step 4. Touch each app you want to add to the folder
A tick will be displayed on the selected application circle.
Step 5. Touch Create folder
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Type in the folder name
Touch Enter folder name ” to type a name.
Step 7. Touch ADD APPS if you want to add more apps to the folder
Otherwise, touch the outside of the box to return to the page/app drawer. A new folder is now created on the application page.
- To add more apps to a folder, drag them from the drawer and drop them into the folder.
- To delete a folder, touch and hold the folder, select “ Delete folder, then touch " DELETE FOLDER ”.
Method 3 of 4: Moving Apps on Home Screen
Step 1. Touch and hold the app on the home screen
You can move apps around the home screen (and to another home screen if you want) by dragging them.
Step 2. Drag the app to another section or area on the home screen
When you lift your finger, the app icon will appear in a new place or section.
To move an app to another home screen, drag the icon to the far right or left of the screen until the next page is displayed, then lift your finger off the screen
Method 4 of 4: Changing the Order of Pages/App Drawer
Step 1. Open the page/app drawer on the device
You can usually swipe up from the bottom of the home screen, or tap the app menu icon (often a 9 square or dotted icon).
Step 2. Touch
It's in the top-right corner of the app drawer.
If you want to sort apps by name alphabetically, select “ Alphabetical order " This option is usually selected as the default option.
Step 3. Select Custom order
You will be taken back to the app drawer in special editing mode.
Step 4. Drag and drop the app icon to its new location
After dragging and moving the app position, you may have some blank space or pages. Don't worry because you can delete those blank spaces or pages.
Step 5. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Touch Clean up pages
Now, all the pages and free space will be removed from the app drawer.
Step 7. Touch Apply
App drawer appearance changes will be saved afterwards.
