This wikiHow teaches you how to hide shared friends from other Facebook users if you're using an Android device. While you can hide your friends list from everyone, the only way to hide your mutual friends is to ask your friends to also hide their friends list.

Step 1. Run Facebook on Android device
It's a blue icon with a white "f" inside. These apps are usually placed on the home screen or app drawer.
Step 2. Touch the menu at the top right of the screen
A menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Scroll down the screen and tap Settings and Privacy
You'll find it in the middle of the menu, next to the gear-shaped icon.
Step 4. Touch Settings
It's the first option under "Settings and Privacy", next to the gear icon.
Step 5. Touch Privacy Settings
It's the first option under "Privacy", next to the padlock-shaped icon.
Step 6. Touch Who can see your friends list?
This option is under the “How People Find and Contact You” heading.
Step 7. Touch Only me
By doing so, your friends list will not be visible to all Facebook users. However, at this point, your Facebook friends will still be able to see your mutual friends.
If this option is not present, touch See more at the bottom to display a complete list of options.
Step 8. Ask friends to limit who can see their friends list by selecting "Only me"
If your Facebook friends have made the same settings as you, they won't be able to see your shared friends.
