A real man can take care of himself and his family. A real man is intelligent, respectful, and confident, but also knows how to give in, ask for help, and how to do what's necessary. Becoming a real man takes effort. If you want to know how to develop a more macho persona, you can learn to act and look that way, and avoid the clichés that give "macho" men a bad name. Learn how to be a man. See Step 1 for more information.
Step
Method 1 of 4: Behaving Macho
Step 1. Learn how to be independent
Macho man can see himself and his family. If you want to cultivate a macho persona, learn how to do things for yourself and rely on others for less basic tasks. Can you change the car oil or do you take it to the store? A macho man should know how to approach situations intelligently when needed without panicking. Here's a short list of good macho things any man should know."
-
take care of your car
-
fix leaky faucet
-
throwing knife
-
cook steak properly
-
shoot gun
-
drinking whiskey
-
shave with a straight shaver
-
looking for water
-
cutting meat
-
survive in the wilderness
-
win the battle
Step 2. Enjoy a manly hobby
Playing X-Box is fun, but there are probably more macho things you can do. Macho man goes out of the house and does something with his hands. Masculine hobbies can be a great way to build relationships with other men and feel testosterone flowing freely. Try some macho activities to see what you like:
-
fishing
-
football
-
golf
-
boxing
-
motorcycle
-
read
-
skeet-shooting
Step 3. Become an expert at something
Macho men are intelligent men who make learning about as many things as possible a big priority. Whether it's a job or a hobby, you should actively strive to learn and master a subject. People should be willing to ask you for help because of your expertise in a particular subject, not the other way around.
- Never put someone down for knowing more about something than you. Thinking of stupidity as "cool" doesn't make you macho, it just makes you stupid.
- If you are very talented, you can support words with actions. Showing off to your friends about your ability in bed, the speed of your car, or how high you jump may be macho, or it may be a lie. Show off something worth showing off.
Step 4. Form good relationships with other men
Being macho is no fun if you don't have an A-team of macho men ready to tread the woods and roar at the moon with you. Every man needs another man to be friends and relate to their male genes. Get some macho friends and do macho things.
- Find male role models you value and learn from them. If you are studying a trade, apprentice with a man you admire personally and professionally and learn all you can from him.
- Spend time with your male family members to get to know him better. Try to strengthen your relationship with your father, uncle, and male cousin. The blood between macho men must be thick.
Step 5. Resist the display of excessive emotion
When the macho man hits a touchdown, he calmly walks over to the referee, hands the ball, then returns to the tussle. Business as usual. Show off for men who have to keep up, because macho men are calm and unrelated and unaffected. The macho guy should look like you want to give him the lead role in post-apocalypse, because he'll be staring at the zombie crowd with a bored smile. Macho men will not be crushed by failure or overpowered by success. Treat whatever happens, good or bad, like a curiosity.
If you have to cry in public, be steadfast and calm, speak without breaking voices. Macho tears are like rain in the desert: they should surprise, but be rewarded. People will know a situation is serious if a macho guy like you lets out a tear of gravity
Step 6. Be yourself
Being macho doesn't mean you have to drive recklessly, drink too much alcohol, and treat everyone like dirt. A real man acts like himself, stands up for his beliefs, and is primarily a real person. A real macho man doesn't act, he just becomes a man.
Method 2 of 4: Be Confident
Step 1. Take care of your family
Be reliable and keep up the good work so that others can depend on you. Make yourself available and be a good role model for other male family members. Teach them what you know and learn as much as you can about them.
Sometimes, the so-called “macho” is really just a guy compensating for not being confident and not being able to take care of the people around him. A man who cannot maintain his household must attack other men, showing off to everyone around him of his prowess, in order to maintain his status. If you really care for your family, keep a good job, make your partner happy, you don't have to compensate with fake masculinity
Step 2. Bring yourself in macho style
The macho man is confident with friends, strangers, and coworkers. People should see you when you enter the room. Sit up straight, walk with good posture, and look the other person in the eye. Speak clearly and loudly with the belief that what you have to say is trustworthy, true, and worth listening to.
The macho man makes his presence known physically and vocally, without actively trying to intimidate others. There's a difference between being macho and being a jerk. Don't insult people to bring them down and elevate yourself. If you like talking about other people with your friends, set boundaries
Step 3. Say what you really mean
The macho man fights for what he believes in from an intelligent and informative point of view. Don't be afraid to speak your mind honestly and clearly. If you disagree with someone, make your disagreement known respectfully, even if it's easier to let it go.
Step 4. Give in generously
Have the confidence to let failure and defeat worry you. Learn to give in quietly and move on with life. A macho man can succumb generously, win humbly, and learn from his mistakes instead of letting them turn himself into a defensive jerk.
It's also important to learn when you're wrong and admit it. If you have an argument and start changing your opinion, or if your decision turns out to be wrong, say so. Admit it. Be a real man
Step 5. Get people to come to you
Macho men sometimes develop a mysterious presence that acts like a magnet for other people, especially women. If other people think you're a man with secrets, a man who has something to say, they will gravitate towards you and become interested. It's part sex appeal, part charisma, and part manliness.
- Shut Up. Be a good listener, and don't talk unless you absolutely have to. It's very hard to be macho when your mouth never stops moving.
- Serious. Mysterious macho men are usually not silly. Imagine the seriousness of veterans and old sea captains.
- Sensual. Understand the love art of massage and enjoyment. Be a sexual Olympian.
Method 3 of 4: Avoiding Stereotypes
Step 1. Be polite and respectful towards women
If there's one thing that gives macho men a bad name, it's that they treat women badly, belittle them, realize them, and are generally disrespectful. The macho man treats all the women in his life with respect. Learn to talk to women alone, calmly and politely.
You don't have to put on a big show to get women interested. It's unattractive and shows that you're just acting. RememberL Be a real man. Don't whistle or use seductive phrases to talk to women. You are better than that
Step 2. Eat vegetables and have a good diet
Some men think that eating meat alone is “cool”, and dislike green vegetables and other foods because they think they are not masculine. Unfortunately for them, a diet that mostly contains red meat and avoids leafy greens leads to things like prostate, stomach, and bowel cancers. There's nothing macho about losing your prostate and becoming impotent and sexually incontinent.
Step 3. Drink responsibly
Being able to drink a lot of alcohol isn't a masculine sign, it's a sign of alcohol abuse. There's nothing wrong with having a few drinks with friends – especially bourbon, beer, or just Manhattan – but you need to know your limits and avoid pushing them as a way of showing off to your friends. This can lead to serious problems.
The same goes for other bad habits, such as smoking and using drugs. Abuse is a sign of distrust, not a sign of masculinity
Step 4. Drive safely
There's nothing macho about driving too fast, overtaking someone else, or hitting the gas at a traffic light. If you're a real man, you don't have to show it off by showing off in a big car.
If you're really proud of your car, show it off to friends in a parking lot, or open highway, but don't flaunt it in traffic. Strangers on their way to work in the morning don't care about your horsepower, and won't make you appear any more macho by pressing hard on the gas when the green light is ahead
Step 5. Have protective and responsible sex
Macho men don't need to be having sex with all women to prove it. Practice safe sex and do it at your own convenience. Ignore men who show off sexual prowess. They probably watch too much porn and just make up stories.
Step 6. Ask for help when you need it
This is perhaps the oldest macho stereotype: Will not stop and ask for directions. Sure, it's embarrassing to admit that you're wrong, or admit that you need help with something, but it's even worse to really get into trouble and make the situation worse. Macho men want to do things right and most importantly, not do them badly by doing it themselves. You can't do everything yourself. Ask for assistance.
Method 4 of 4: Look Macho
Step 1. Take care of your appearance
A macho man should take care of his appearance without spending too much time or money. To look macho, you need to be clean, smell good, and dress appropriately, but not look like you spend more than 5 minutes getting ready in the morning, or that you care about how you look.
-
Leave things like manicure and expensive haircuts. Better yet, learn to trim your own neckline and beard with a trimmer to keep it looking good between basic cuts. Trim and clean your nails regularly, but don't worry about your cuticles.
-
Take a shower and wear clean clothes that fit properly and highlight your masculine physique. There's nothing macho about body odor and wearing clothes like a teenager. Learn to choose clothes.
Step 2. You can never go wrong with jeans
What do macho men wear? The simpler, the better. A basic look featuring jeans of any style, a crisp white t-shirt, and work boots looked great in the 1950s and still looks great today.
Dress appropriately for work. Don't wear flip-flops and shorts to your workplace, or you risk looking like a fool. Buy a nice pair of shoes or boots and do the job
Step 3. Start exercising
The macho man has a macho physique, probably not by spending time in an expensive gym doing Pilates, but from lifting heavy things in his garage. Develop a muscle building routine that you can do at home with the ingredients you already have. You don't have to buy expensive heavy equipment or trendy clothes. Barbells will suffice.
Focus on your abs and arms above all other muscle clumps. Do a variety of sit-ups and different angles to build your six-pack and do bicep curls and bench presses to work your chest and arms
Step 4. Have some scars
The macho man gets his hands dirty and carries on a physical life which likely results in some dings and dents on the man's body. Do not worry. Enjoy activities you know you can do, and be adventurous. You only live once.
This doesn't mean you have to be irresponsible and put yourself at risk. Get scars because you ride dirt bikes and fix your car, not because you get into bar fights or drive like a moron
Tips
- Be confident.
- Take care of your appearance.
