Are you ready to put on your bikini and go to the beach or the pool? Wearing a bikini can be a little tricky. The material is not wide or long enough for you to "modify", but the bikini should be in the right place to cover your body. Learn how to wear a bikini so it feels right, as well as prepare your body so you look and feel comfortable in your swimsuit.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Wearing a Bikini
Step 1. Undress from head to toe
Bikinis are meant to reveal a lot of skin, so take your clothes off. Also take off the bra and panties. Do not try to wear a bikini with panties, as it is impossible to keep the panties from popping out when you are active at the beach or pool.
Step 2. Put on bikini shorts
Bikini pants usually cover the body as much as underwear. The top hem of the bikini should fit snugly at the hips, across each hip bone below the navel. At the back, bikini shorts should cover the buttocks snugly. Bikini pants cover all or part of the buttocks, depending on the type of bikini you choose.
- Bikini pants should not be too loose or loose. If it feels loose, you will need a smaller size.
- Bikini pants should also not be too tight on the skin and make them stand out. If so, try a larger size.
Step 3. Tighten the bikini top under the bust
Wear a bikini top like wearing a bra, by tightening the bikini edge around the chest first. It may be helpful to wear a bikini top at the back, so that you can tighten the brim of the bikini through the front of your body, then twist it around to position it properly, with the bikini cups at the front.
- If this is a strappy bikini top, then first, make a tight knot, then tie the ends in a bow-tie. Tie it so that the top of the bikini stays in place, but not so tight that it can interfere with blood circulation.
- If the hem of the bikini top is loose enough for your hands to tuck, then tie it tighter or go for a smaller size. If it feels tight enough to make you uncomfortable, look for a larger size.
Step 4. Adjust the bikini cup
Position the breast in the center of each cup so that it fits snugly in it. Make sure the cup material completely covers the breast; If you feel tight, or your breasts are sticking out of the sides of the cup, you may want to look for a larger size. If it feels loose, try a smaller size or opt for a bikini top with padding. Here are the different types of bikini tops, and how to properly tighten them::
- Triangular bikini top: This bikini model provides only a little support and covers the body, so it's perfect for small busts. Make sure the breast is in the center of the triangular cup. If the bikini top has a sliding triangular cup, slide the cup over the bust to ensure that the bikini material completely covers the bust.
- Bikini top with neck strap: This bikini model provides more support, making it suitable for large busts. Position your breasts in the center of each cup and stretch the cups around your breasts to fully cover them.
- Bandeau bikini top: This bikini top is strapless, so make sure you have the right size so the bikini top doesn't go up or sag. Adjust the position of the bikini top so that the bust fits into the middle of the cup. This type of bikini top should cover the chest tight enough; and if it's loose or loose, you need to look for a smaller size or choose a bikini top with a different style.
- Bikini top with wire: This bikini style is similar to a bra and worn in the same way. Position the bikini so that it is directly under the breasts, then lower the breasts to fit into the cup.
Step 5. Adjust the bikini straps
Adjusting the bikini strap is important, so it can make the bikini top secure and support the bust. You need to make the straps tight enough to hold the bikini top in place, but not so tight that it feels tight against your shoulders. A bikini top should feel comfortable to wear like a bra.
- Adjust the bra strap like a regular bra strap. Use the hook on the rope to loosen or tighten it.
- If the bikini strap needs to be tied, it will take a few tries before you can tie the knot properly. The strap should be tight enough to support the bust, but not so tight that it feels too tight on the shoulder. Tie the ends of the bikini straps into a butterfly ribbon shape.
- Some bikini tops have a neckline, with two straps tied right at the nape of the neck. Again, make sure you tie the straps tight enough to support your breasts comfortably.
- If you find that you can't adjust the straps of your bikini in a way that supports your breasts without causing shoulder or neck pain, you may need a bikini top in a different style. Try a bikini top with a regular bra with wire for maximum support.
Step 6. Walk around the room to test if the bikini sag or feel uncomfortable
Also try to jump up and down. You'll have fun in the sun and you don't want to worry about your boobs popping out or your bikini bottoms drooping. Make the necessary adjustments so that you can wear your bikini with confidence all day long.
Part 2 of 2: Wearing Bikini Comfortably
Step 1. Consider removing body hair around the bikini line
You will feel more comfortable knowing that no body hair will come out of the bikini bottom when basking in the sun or swimming in a bikini. Trimming and shaving are common ways to get rid of them, as they are inexpensive and painless. You can also consider removing body hair in the area by waxing if you have planned a bikini event in advance.
- To figure out what body hair to remove, put on a pair of bikini bottoms and examine the hair sticking out of the hem of the bikini shorts. You need to get rid of enough body hair so that the bikini shorts cover everything adequately.
- Some people also like to remove leg and armpit hair to feel ready to wear a bikini.
Step 2. Exfoliate the skin
Since wearing a bikini means showing off your skin, you need to pamper your skin for a day or two before it's time to hit the beach or the pool. When showering, use a loofah or scrub scrub to exfoliate dead skin cells on your arms, legs, and other areas. This will get rid of dead skin cells and make skin healthy and shiny.
- Use gentle circular motions to exfoliate the skin, and don't scrub too hard.
- Don't forget your back and other hard-to-reach parts of your body. Use a scrub brush to get to inaccessible places.
Step 3. Use a thick moisturizer
After exfoliating, apply your favorite moisturizing lotion to protect the skin from drying out. The skin will be soft and shiny when it comes time to wear a bikini. As an alternative to moisturizer, try using coconut oil or olive oil to soften your skin.
Step 4. Don't forget sunscreen
Wearing a bikini means using a lot of sunscreen, because most of the body will be exposed to the sun. Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 16 or higher, five to ten minutes before being out in the sun, and reapply if needed throughout the day. Wearing plenty of sunscreen will prevent you from experiencing painful sunburns and provide protection against sun spots and skin cancer.
- Try using a waterproof sunscreen if you're going swimming. You will still need to reapply more than once throughout the day.
- If you're trying to tan, you should still wear sunscreen. Sunscreen prevents you from getting sunburned, but it can't really stop the sun's rays from affecting your skin. It's better to get a tan gradually than to burn first.
Step 5. Bring outer protective clothing
You may not want to be exposed to the sun and other things all the time while at the beach or pool. Bring a pretty overcoat that you can wear to layer your bikini any time you like. As a bonus, these clothes will protect your skin from the sun, so you don't have to bother slathering your entire body with sunscreen if you wear them.
