Hickey marks appear when a strong suck or bite makes the blood vessels under the surface of the skin rupture. Most people want to get rid of the hickey mark, but if you want to have a hickey mark yourself, there are a number of ways you can create this hickey mark, or at least create a fake hickey sign.

Method 1 of 3: Making a Fake Betta Sign with a Bottle
Step 1. Choose the right location for the hickey mark
Most hickey marks are located around the neck, but they can be found all over the chest area.
If you choose a location on the neck, make the hickey mark on the side of the neck, not on the front of the neck under the chin on the middle side of the neck (right or around the throat/esophagus). The hickey mark on the side of the neck will look more convincing
Step 2. Take a plastic bottle with a capacity of 2 liters
This bottle is the tool you use to create fake hickey marks. Place the bottle between your hands, and squeeze the center of the bottle.
Stand in front of a mirror while preparing to make a fake hickey mark, so you can see the process clearly
Step 3. Glue the mouth of the bottle to your body
Glue the squeezed bottle mouth in the center on the area of the body you chose to make a fake hickey mark. The mouth of the bottle must be completely flat against the surface of your skin in order to create a suction. Hold the bottle in this position for about 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, pull the bottle and remove it from the surface of your skin.
Keep in mind that the less air there is in the bottle (because you squeeze the center of the bottle harder), the more air will be sucked against your skin's surface. This stronger suction of air will create the hickey mark more quickly and appear more intense
Step 4. Consider making the hickey mark area wider
Since the mouth of the bottle is a perfect circle, consider sliding it 1-2 cm, and making a new hickey mark. This second hickey doesn't have to appear as strong as the first hickey, so squeeze the center of the bottle less strongly the first time, or reduce the amount of time you hold the mouth of the bottle against your skin.
Since the human mouth is more oval in shape, expanding the area of the hickey mark will make the results look more convincing
Method 2 of 3: Making Fake Hickey Marks with Eye Shadow
Step 1. Select the location of this hickey mark
Hickey marks can be found anywhere on your body, but are usually seen in the neck or chest area.
If you want to make a hickey mark on the neck area, it's best to make it on the side of the neck. Don't make a hickey mark on the middle side of the neck, near the throat, or in the area under the chin
Step 2. Take a set of eye shadows
Take a large set of eye shadows, which come in many color options. The colors you will be using are dark pink, dark purple, and dark blue.
- Use a small makeup brush to apply eye shadow.
- Remember, if you have dark skin, you may need to use darker eye shadow colors as well, to keep these hickey marks visible on your skin.
Step 3. Apply pink eye shadow
Gently rub the makeup brush once or twice over the pink eye shadow container. Stand in front of the mirror while applying makeup. Move the makeup brush towards the location of the hickey mark, and run the brush while making a small oval shape, about 1-2 cm, on the surface of your skin.
Make sure that you don't pile up too much eyeshadow on your makeup brush. You will need to gradually create a gradient appearance of color on this hickey mark
Step 4. Add purple eye shadow
Gently dab the tip of the makeup brush once on the purple eye shadow, and apply this purple to the center point of the hickey mark. Continue gently using the entire tip of the makeup brush, and make small oval shapes to create the hickey look. Use a makeup brush to blend in the purple until it looks graded towards the edges of the hickey mark.
If you're in doubt, use only a few dark colors. You can add more later, but you'll have a hard time removing the color that's already stuck to the skin's surface
Step 5. Add blue eye shadow
Again, brush the tip of the makeup brush into the blue eye shadow, and dab on the center point of the hickey mark. Swipe the tip of the brush and make a small oval shape, blending the blue towards the edges of the hickey mark.
Since the hickey should have formed by the time you're about to add this blue, you don't need too much extra blue. Consider tapping the tip of the makeup brush tip against your finger, to remove any excess blue from the brush
Step 6. Finish your makeup
Spray lightly with hairspray or special makeup spray, so the hickey marks last longer and don't fade and stain your clothes. These fake hickey marks will last until you clean them later.
Method 3 of 3: Making Fake Hickey Marks with Active Alcohol Paint
Step 1. Select the location point for your hickey mark
You can make them anywhere on your body, but hickey marks are usually visible on the neck and chest area.
Step 2. Take an alcohol activated paint
Activated alcohol paint is commonly used for film and theater productions, because it is sweat-resistant and lasts a very long time.
Grease paint is another option you can use, but this type of paint tends to be short-lived and will fade slightly due to natural body heat
Step 3. Add a little alcohol to the paint palette
Open the alcohol bottle cap, and place a cotton swab in the open mouth of the bottle. Flip the bottle for just one second, then return the bottle to its original position. Squeeze a cotton swab soaked in alcohol into the paint palette until the alcohol drips onto the palette.
You will use this small puddle of alcohol to wet the paint sponge and activate the makeup paint later
Step 4. Pat a paint sponge into the alcohol puddle
Tap one end of the paint sponge into the alcohol. Then, squeeze the tip of the sponge to spread the alcohol over the entire area of the sponge. Tap the tip of the sponge against a tissue to absorb excess alcohol.

Step 5. Apply the first coat of paint
Gently pat a paint sponge moistened with alcohol into the red paint. Lightly pat the tip of the sponge against the surface of your skin, and make a small oval shape, about 1 cm long and 0.5 cm wide.
Blend the paint color as much as possible. The blending of the colors will make the hickey mark look more natural and genuine
Step 6. Apply a second coat of paint
With the same paint sponge, pat the sponge into the blue paint. The red from the first layer will mix with the blue and create a purple color that closely resembles the color of bruises on the skin. Gently tap the sponge to the midpoint of the hickey mark, to create the appearance of a broken blood vessel.
