Google collects information on every search made through its entire program. In 2012, they aggregated all personal information, so you can choose whether you want Google to collect your web search history and provide it to third-party clients. Follow these instructions to clear Google history and improve internet privacy.

Part 1 of 3: Google Account
Step 1. Go to google.com or gmail.com and sign in to your Google account
All Google products unified allows you to use the same sign-in process to access all Google products, such as Gmail, YouTube, Docs and more
Step 2. Go to google.com/history
This is where Google manages search and other browsing information for internal and advertising purposes.
You can also open the Google History page when you are on the main search engine Google. Look for the gear icon that shows the settings. Click it and select "Search History."
Part 2 of 3: Selecting Google Search History
Step 1. Specify the type of history you want to delete
Navigate through the various options in the left column.
For example, you can go to "Shopping" or "Images" or "Finance" and see a list of search history dates back for as long as you used a Google account
Step 2. Choose whether you want to delete only certain parts of Google history
This is a better choice if you use Google Now, as your card is based on your Google history. Deleting other parts of it can remove the functionality of the cards and your voice search
Step 3. Select each item in each category
Step 4. Click the "Remove Items" button to delete the specific history
Part 3 of 3: Clearing All History
Step 1. Return to the main google.com/history page
Step 2. Press the "Delete All" button
- Decide if you want to disable Web History. Go to privacy settings and choose to turn it off, then choose who can see your history. Press "Save" to make changes to the account.
- Even if you choose to increase your privacy settings, Google will collect data about searches for their internal programs, such as analytics.
Tips
- Many Android apps require you to use Google History. You can return to the Google History page and click "Turn Web History On" to save the search history. Google will improve your search targeting according to what you are looking for on a regular basis.
- To clear YouTube history, sign in to Google. Then, open YouTube.com in the same browser. Click on the profile icon and select "Video Manager." Go to the "History" tab and select "Clear All Viewing History". Then, click "Pause Viewing History" if you no longer want to collect history. Then, repeat this step under the "Search History" tab.
