This wikiHow teaches you how to delete watch history and search history from YouTube. You can perform deletions via the mobile app and desktop site.

Method 1 of 2: Via Mobile App
Step 1. Open YouTube
Tap the YouTube app icon, which resembles a white triangle on a red background. After that, the main YouTube page will be displayed if you are already logged in to your account.
If you're not logged into your account, enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue to the next step
Step 2. Touch the profile icon
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. If you don't have a profile photo, the icon looks like a human head and shoulders, or the first letters of your name on a colored background.
Step 3. Touch the Settings button
It's in the middle of the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Scroll down and tap on Clear watch history option
It's in the " PRIVACY " option group.
On Android, touch the option “ History & privacy " first.
Step 5. Touch the CLEAR WATCH HISTORY option when prompted
After that, all the videos you have watched will be deleted from your YouTube account history.
On Android devices, touch the option “ OK ' when prompted.
Step 6. Tap on Clear search history option
It's right under the option Clear watch history ”.
Step 7. Touch the CLEAR SEARCH HISTORY button when prompted
After that, your search history on YouTube will be deleted. Now, your YouTube history is empty and clean.
Again, on the Android device, touch “ OK ' when prompted.
Method 2 of 2: Via Desktop Site
Step 1. Open YouTube
Visit https://www.youtube.com/ in your preferred browser. After that, you will be taken to the main YouTube page if you are already logged in to your account.
If you are not logged into your YouTube account, click the “ Sign in ” in the upper-right corner of the screen, then enter your email address (or phone number) and account password.
Step 2. Click History
This tab is usually on the left side of the YouTube main page.
If you don't see the tab " History ”, click the profile icon and select “ Settings ” (or the gear icon), then swipe up and click “ History ” at the bottom of the page.
Step 3. Click CLEAR ALL WATCH HISTORY
It's in the top-right corner of the page.
Step 4. Click CLEAR ALL WATCH HISTORY when prompted
After that, the previously watched videos will be deleted from the YouTube account history.
Step 5. Click Search history
This option is above the “ CLEAR ALL WATCH HISTORY ” in the upper-right corner of the page.
Step 6. Click CLEAR ALL SEARCH HISTORY
This option is in the same position as the “ CLEAR ALL WATCH HISTORY ”.
Step 7. Click CLEAR ALL SEARCH HISTORY when prompted
After that, the search history will be deleted from your YouTube channel. Now your YouTube history is empty.
