This wikiHow teaches you how to hide information about the artists you've recently listened to on Spotify on your Android device. While you might not mind when your followers and friends know what you're listening to, sometimes you just want to hide the music information. There are two easy ways to hide this information on Spotify.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Hiding Recently Listened Artist Information
Step 1. Open the Spotify app
Start by opening the Spotify app which you can find on your home screen or device's app drawer.
Step 2. Touch the Your Library tab on the navigation menu at the bottom of the screen
The “Your Library” tab is on the right side of the navigation bar and is marked by icons for music albums on the shelf. Touch the icon.
Step 3. Scroll to the Recently Played segment
The “Your Library” segment has several options at the top. However, you will need to scroll through the screen to find the “Recently Played” segment. This segment displays information on artists, albums, and recently listened playlists.
Step 4. Touch the three vertical dots icon next to the information or content that needs to be hidden
Find the content you want to hide and select the three vertical dots icon to the right of it.
Step 5. Touch the Hide option
A menu will appear and contain various options. Swipe the screen to find and select the “Hide” option. After that, the music/content in question will be hidden from the “Recently Played” segment.
Method 2 of 2: Hiding Music Listening Activity from Facebook
Step 1. Open the Spotify app
If not, open the app at this stage. You can find the Spotify icon on your device's home screen or app drawer.
Step 2. Select the Your Library tab in the lower right corner of the screen
You can see the “Your Library” icon on the right side of the navigation bar, at the bottom of the screen. This icon looks like two vertical lines, with a third line resting against the two lines. Touch this icon to access your music library.
Step 3. Touch the settings menu icon
in the upper right corner of the screen.
On the top right side of the application window, you can see a settings menu icon that looks like a gear. Touch the icon.
Step 4. Scroll to the Social segment
This settings page is divided into segments. Scroll down until you find the segment labeled “Social”.
Step 5. Slide the switch next to the Private Session text to active position
Look for the “Private Session” option in the “Social” section and slide the button to activate the option. With this option, you can hide all music listening activity on Spotify from Facebook. However, keep in mind that each “session” expires after the account has not been used for 6 hours.
Step 6. Turn off the Listening Activity feature (optional)
You can also find the option to turn off the “Listening Activity” feature under the “Private Session” option. Turn this option off if it's still active so that information about the music you're listening to can be hidden from followers and other Spotify users.
