This wikiHow teaches you how to add Discord users to your personal friends list via your computer, phone, or tablet. You can easily send a friend request to anyone if you know their unique Discord tag. The user in question will be added to the friends list immediately after he accepts your friend request.

Method 1 of 2: Using a Computer
Step 1. Open Discord on the computer

Step 2. Click the “Home” button at the top left corner of the screen
This button looks like a white game pad inside a purple square, in the upper-left corner of the app window.
Step 3. Click Friends in the menu on the left side
You can see this option in the “Home” menu in the upper-left corner of the application window. Options are displayed next to the bust icon waving his hand, above the " DIRECT MESSAGES " list.
Step 4. Click the green Add Friend button at the top of the screen
It's at the top of the " Friends " page. A friend request page will open after that.
Step 5. Type in your friend's Discord marker under "ADD FRIEND"
Click the " Enter a DiscordTag#0000 " field at the top of the page and type your friend's unique Discord tag into that field.
Your friend's unique Discord marker is their username, followed by the hashtag symbol (" #") and a unique four-digit code.
Step 6. Click the Send Friend Request button
It's a blue button to the right of the text field. A friend request will be sent to the user in question.
The user will be added to your friends list once he/she accepts the friend request
Method 2 of 2: Using a Phone or Tablet
Step 1. Open the Discord app on your phone or tablet

Step 2. Touch the three line menu button
It's in the top-left corner of the screen. The navigation menu will open afterwards.
Step 3. Touch the “Home” button at the top left corner of the screen
This button looks like three white busts in a circle. A list of " DIRECT MESSAGES " will be opened afterwards.
Step 4. Touch Friends on the “Home” menu
This button is displayed next to the bust icon waving his hand, above the " DIRECT MESSAGES " list.
Step 5. Tap the white bust icon and the "+" symbol in the top right corner of the screen
You can find the button in the upper right corner of the " Friends " page. The "Add Friend" form will open in a new page.
Step 6. Enter a friend's Discord tag in the " DiscordTag#0000 " field
Tap the field at the top of the page and type in your friend's Discord marker.
- The Discord tag is your friend's username, followed by the hashtag symbol (" #") and a unique four-digit code.
- Alternatively, you can touch the “ START NEARBY SCANNING ” at the bottom of the screen and use the device's WiFi or Bluetooth connection to find and add nearby Discord users.
Step 7. Click the SEND button
It's a blue button on the right side of the page. A friend request will be sent to the user in question.
