How to Remove Text from Images Through Online Services

This wikiHow teaches you how to use an online image editing service to remove text from photos. Inpaint Online will automatically remove text from images, but you will need to pay a fee for this service. If you're looking for a free option, Fotor allows you to use a clone effect to erase certain parts (or text) of an image.

Method 1 of 2: Using Fotor

Step 1. Visit

You can use this online service via a desktop or mobile web browser. If you're using a phone or tablet, you may experience problems trying to pan or move the drawing canvas.

• Fotor offers a free text eraser service, but you need to create a free account first.
• Fotor also provides a paid subscription service so you can access more features.

Step 2. Click or tap Get Started

It's a light blue button in the middle of the page.

Step 3. Click or tap Open

It's a button with a “☰” icon in the top center of the editing area.

Step 4. Upload the photo

You can upload photos from your computer's hard drive, Fotor Cloud storage, Dropbox, or Facebook. Select the location or source of the photo, then locate and double-click the image to open it.

Step 5. Click or touch Beauty, then select Clone.

The menu will expand below it.

Step 6. Click and drag (or touch and drag) the “Intensity” slider to the “100%” level

You need to increase this level in order to see the result of cloning part of the image. This setting can be changed back later.

Step 7. Click or touch the part of the image you want to clone

The selected portion will later be used to cover the portion of the image or text that you want to remove.

If you do not like the selected section, you can click or select “ Re-choose clone area ” under the " Clone " heading, on the left side of the page.

Step 8. Click and drag the cursor on the text you want to delete

The text will be covered by the part of the image that has been partially selected for the clone area.

• If you want a more accurate and neat look, change the brush size by dragging the " Brush Size " slider in the menu on the left side of the page. You can also enlarge the image by clicking or tapping the plus sign below the image. The magnification percentage will be displayed next to the plus and minus icons that are used to zoom in and out of the image.
• You can click or touch the option “ Cancel ” if you don't like the final edit.

Step 9. Use the tools on the left menu to edit the clone effect

You can move the sliders in the " Fade " and " Intensity " segments to change or adjust the final result.

Step 10. Click or tap Apply

You can see this button under the " Fade " slider in the menu on the left side of the page.

• The clone you made to remove the text from the image will take effect and can no longer be edited.
• If you don't like the already applied clone, click or tap “ Original ” in the menu above the editing area to restore the image to its original state.

Step 11. Click or tap Save

It's at the far right of the menu, above the editing area.

If you are not logged into your free Fotor account, you will be asked to sign in or create an account first

Step 12. Download the file

Click or tap the file name field to rename and save the file, and specify the desired image format and quality -j.webp

Method 2 of 2: Using InPaint Online

Step 1. Visit

You can use a desktop or mobile web browser to use this online tool.

• In InPaint Online, you need to purchase credits to download high-quality, textless images. You can get 500 credits for 19.99 US dollars (approximately 280 thousand rupiahs), 100 credits for 9.99 US dollars (approximately 140 thousand rupiahs), and 10 credits for 4.99 US dollars (approx. 70 thousand rupiah). One downloaded image is offered for 1 credit.
• You can also purchase the desktop version of InPaint Online for Windows and Mac computers for 19.99 US dollars or around 280 thousand rupiah (one time payment). Step 2. Click or tap Upload Image

Step 3. Find and double-click the photo you want to edit

A file browsing window will appear when you click or touch “ Upload Image After that, you need to find the image whose text needs to be removed.

The image will be opened in the editing window and the eraser tool will automatically be selected

Step 4. Click and drag (or touch and drag) the part of the image you want to delete

Sections dragged with the mouse (or finger) will be marked in red to indicate that they will be deleted.

• If you click or touch the green circle in the menu on the left side of the page, you can change the section containing the information that InPaint uses to fill in the erased area.
• Tools in the menu on the left side of the page (e.g. the lasso tool, polygonal lasso tool, or marker tool) can also help you select the part to remove from the image.

Step 5. Click or touch Erase when finished marking the section

It's a green button at the top of the editing area, in the middle of the page.

• You can see the progress bar as InPaint erases the selected section.
• If you don't like the final edit, click or tap the “Undo” icon above the editing area, on the left side of the page.

Step 6. Click or tap Download

It's in the top-right corner of the page.

• A yellow question mark button will display a new window with tips and instructions for using editing tools.
• The red "X" button will close the editing window and take you back to the list of recently uploaded images.

Step 7. Click or tap Download Low Resolution or Purchases.

If you want to download a low-resolution copy of the image, a file browsing window will open where you can specify the storage directory for the image.

• If you wish to purchase a higher quality copy of the image, you will be directed to a pricing page to purchase a certain number of credits (e.g. “500”, “100”, or “10”). Click or tap " Buy Now ” to access the payment page and enter payment information, such as credit card information, PayPal account, or QIWI.
• After purchasing credits, you will be asked to use one credit to download an image in high quality, with successfully deleted text.
