This wikiHow teaches you how to take a screenshot of the content on the screen of a Samsung tablet. You can take a screenshot by holding down the power ("Power") and volume down buttons on most newer Samsung tablets. You can also use the palm swipe gesture on the screen to take screenshots on some tablet models.

Method 1 of 3: Using the Tablet Button

Step 1. Identify the buttons that need to be used
On all Samsung tablet models, press the button power and volume down simultaneously to take a screenshot after one second.
On Samsung tablets that have a physical “Home” button, you can also hold down the. button power and " Home ” to take a screenshot.

Step 2. Locate the relevant buttons on the tablet
You can find the button power on the top right side of the device. Knob volume down is the bottom button in the "volume" button group on the right side of the tablet.
If the tablet you are using has a “ Home Physically, the button is at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4. Hold down the screenshot capture buttons on the tablet
Press and hold the button power and volume down, and don't let go until prompted.

Step 5. Release the buttons when the screen is slightly zoomed out
The display change indicates that the screenshot has been taken. You can also preview the screenshot in the lower-right corner of the screen, and a photo icon will appear in the notification bar in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Step 6. Review the screenshot taken
After taking a screenshot, you can open it in several ways:
- Notification menu - Swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap the notification “ Screenshot captured ”.
- Device gallery - Open the app Gallery, touch the tab “ ALBUMS ", select albums " Screenshots ”, and touch the screenshot that has been taken.

Step 1. Understand the right time to use this method
On some Samsung Galaxy tablets, you can activate a setting that allows you to take screenshots by swiping from right to left of the screen. This feature is not available on every Samsung tablet, and you cannot use it while the keyboard is still displayed on the screen.

Step 2. Swipe down from the top of the screen
A notification drop-down menu will appear.

Step 3. Touch the settings icon or “Settings”
It's in the upper-right corner of the drop-down menu. After that, the settings menu (“Settings”) will be displayed.

Step 4. Touch Advanced features
This icon is on the left side of the screen. The “Advanced Features” menu will open on the right side of the screen.

Step 5. Touch the white “Palm swipe to capture” switch
This switch is on the right side of the screen. The switch color will change to blue indicating that you are now able to swipe your palm on the screen to take a screenshot.
- If the switch is blue from the start, the "Palm swipe to capture" feature is already active.
- If you can't find the "Palm swipe to capture" option, your Samsung tablet can't use that feature to take screenshots. Try using the buttons on the tablet instead.

Step 6. Display the content you want to snippet
Open the app, screen, or page you want to snippet.

Step 7. Make sure the keyboard is not showing
The "Palm swipe to capture" feature only works when the keyboard is inactive or displayed on the screen. You can hide the keyboard by touching a non-text area or column on the page/screen.

Step 8. Place the palm side of your hand on the far right of the screen
You can use any hand, but the side of your little finger should be on the far right of the screen.

Step 9. Swipe your hand towards the left at a steady pace
After that, the tablet will take a screenshot. The snapshot is successfully taken when the screen is slightly smaller.
The tablet may also vibrate or emit a confirmation sound

Step 10. Review the screenshot
Once the screenshot is taken, you can open it in one of the following ways:
- Notification menu - Swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap the notification “ Screenshot captured ”.
- Device gallery - Open the app Gallery, touch the tab “ ALBUMS, select albums " Screenshots ”, and touch the screenshot that has been taken.

Step 1. Download Screenshot Easy app
If you can't use tablet keys or hand swipe gestures, try downloading a free app that allows you to take screenshots:

- Touch the search bar.
- Type in screenshot easy.
- Touch " Screenshots of Easy ” in the search results.
- Touch " INSTALL ”.

Step 2. Open Screenshot Easy
Touch the button “ OPEN ” in the Google Play Store window, or select the Camera-shaped Screenshot Easy icon on the device's app page/drawer.

Step 3. Touch ALLOW when prompted
Thus, Screenshot Easy can access and save photos on the device.
You may be prompted to start taking screenshots. If yes, touch the button “ CANCEL ” before continuing.

Step 4. Touch the gray "OVERLAY ICON" switch
The switch color will turn blue indicating that the camera icon will be displayed on the tablet screen, even if the Screenshot Easy application is hidden or closed.

Step 5. Touch START CAPTURE
It's a blue button at the top of the screen.

Step 6. Touch START NOW when prompted
The screenshot capture feature will be activated in Screenshot Easy.

Step 7. Display the content you want to snippet
Open the app, screen, or page you want to snippet.

Step 8. Touch the camera icon
It's in the top-left corner of the screen. After that, a screenshot will be taken and after a few seconds it will be opened in the Screenshot Easy application window.

Step 9. Save the screenshot
Once the snapshot is opened, you can save it to your device's gallery app with these steps:
- Touch the button “ ⋮ ” in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Touch " Save ”.
- Choose " Save as ”.
- Touch " Android ” when prompted.
- Choose " SAVE ” when prompted.

Step 10. Review the screenshot
You can find the captured footage in the " Downloads " folder in the device gallery app:
- Open the device gallery application (Gallery).
- Touch " ALBUMS ” at the top of the screen.
- Touch the folder " Downloads ”.
- Touch the screenshot to open it. It may take a few seconds for the screenshot to be displayed in full quality.

Step 11. Turn off the screenshot capture icon once done
When ready to turn off the screenshot capture icon, reopen the Screenshot Easy app and tap “ STOP CAPTURE ” at the top of the screen.
