Step
Method 1 of 4: Simple Orzo
Step 1. Pour olive oil into a teflon or frying pan
Medium Teflon is the best choice for this recipe. Heat over medium heat for two minutes or until the oil is hot. You can replace the oil with butter according to your taste.
Step 2. Put orzo into Teflon
Most orzos are usually sold in one-pound packs. So, use only half the package.
Step 3. Stir in the orzo
Stir and cook for two to five minutes until it turns a light brown color. Don't let the color turn dark brown because that means your food is scorched.
Step 4. Pour in the chicken stock
Pour one glass first, then add the rest when the stock has begun to be absorbed by the orzo. You can only pour 1.5 cups if you want the texture to be less creamy. Orzo will absorb the broth as rice does the same thing.
Step 5. Increase the heat until all the ingredients are boiling
Then reduce the heat and let the orzo stay hot for 10 to 15 minutes or until the orzo is soft enough and has absorbed all of the broth.
Sometimes you'll notice the orzo has absorbed all of the broth, but is still a little firm. If so, simply add the broth or add water and cook again until the water or broth is absorbed
Step 6. Serve
Serve this food directly or as a side dish to accompany chicken or beef.
Method 2 of 4: Orzo Cream with Garlic and Parmesan
Step 1. Prepare a pot of water and bring the water to a boil
Step 2. Put the orzo in the pan
Step 3. Cook the orzo over medium heat for 10 to 12 minutes
Read the directions on your package to know exactly how long you should cook it. When the orzo is puffy and ready to eat, remove and strain the water.
Step 4. Melt the butter in a large Teflon over medium heat
Step 5. Add the onions
Cook the onions until soft, which is about three to four minutes.
Step 6. Add the garlic and red bell pepper
Cook the ingredients for two minutes.
Step 7. Reduce the heat
Step 8. Add orzo and other ingredients to Teflon
Add the pre-cooked orzo, grated parmesan, half and half, parsley, and salt to the Teflon.
Step 9. Serve
Season with pepper for extra flavor and serve hot.
Method 3 of 4: Orzo Primavera
Step 1. Heat olive oil in Teflon over medium to high heat
Make the oil spread all over the Teflon surface.
Step 2. Cook the onion, garlic, zucchini, and carrots for five minutes
Add all the ingredients to the teflond and stir until smooth.
Step 3. Add curry powder and chicken stock and bring to a boil
Step 4. Add orzo and cook all ingredients for 10 minutes
Reduce the heat to medium and cook and stir all the ingredients so that the flavors are evenly mixed. To achieve an al dente pasta texture, cook for 10 minutes. If you want the orzo to be softer, cook one to two minutes longer. After that remove from the stove.
Step 5. Add and stir in the cheese, parsley, and peas
Mix all the ingredients until smooth.
Step 6. Serve
Season with salt and pepper and serve while warm.
Method 4 of 4: Orzo Mushroom
Step 1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan
Step 2. Put the orzo in the pan
Step 3. Cook the orzo over medium to high heat for eight to 10 minutes
Read the instructions on the package if your orzo has a different cooking time. When the orzo is puffy and edible, remove and strain the water. Do not add any other ingredients or seasonings.
Step 4. Melt the butter in a large Teflon over medium heat for a minute
Step 5. Add mushrooms, pepper and salt to the Teflon and cook for four minutes
Cook until the mushrooms release all the liquid. Stir so that the taste is evenly mixed.
Step 6. Add chicken stock and vinegar
Stir for 30 seconds.
Step 7. Add and stir in the orzo and chives
Stir well for a minute until the orzo is completely cooked.
Step 8. Serve
Complete the orzo with Pecorino Romano and enjoy while it's warm.
Step 9. Done
Tips
- You can also add frozen peas just before serving. You don't need to preheat it because the heat from the orzo and other ingredients will melt it.
- If you want a different taste, mix the oil with the onions to give the oil extra flavor.
- You can also add garlic after adding and stirring the orzo.
