Washing T-shirts with the acid wash method is quite easy. You can use a spray bottle to apply bleach to certain areas of the shirt. Method 1 of 3: Using a Spray Bottle
Step 1. Fill the spray bottle with water and bleach
If you want to use a spray bottle to acid wash your T-shirts, you'll need to fill an empty spray bottle with water and bleach. Mix water with bleach in a bottle.
Step 2. Lay the t-shirt on the sink or concrete
Place the t-shirt away from things that could be stained with bleach. Placing the shirt on a sink or concrete outdoors is a good option.
Make sure the shirt lays flat and doesn't wrinkle. By doing this, you can easily apply the bleach to all parts of the shirt
Step 3. Spray the bleach solution on the desired area of the shirt
Once the shirt is properly laid, you can start spraying the bleach solution. Spray the bleach all over the shirt, but leave some of it. You can also concentrate the bleach in certain areas of the shirt to make it lighter than others.
Spray the bleach in a random pattern instead of regularly. By doing this, the t-shirt will look more attractive and unique
Step 4. Wait for the bleach to react
The part of the shirt that has been sprayed with bleach will take some time to start to lighten. The longer the bleach is left to react, the brighter some parts of the shirt will be. Wait about 10 minutes for the bleach to have enough time to work.
You can also spray the t-shirt again after 10 minutes. After that, wait another 10 minutes. By doing this, the shirt will look more dimensional
Step 5. Rinse and wash the shirt
After the t-shirt has been sprayed and the bleach has been given sufficient time to react, you will need to rinse and wash the t-shirt. Soak the shirt in a sink or bucket filled with water, then wring it out.
If you want to rinse the shirt again, don't use the same water as it already contains bleach. If the shirt is rinsed with the same water, the design may be damaged
Method 2 of 3: Using a Bucket and Rubber Band
Step 1. Start by twisting or clumping the shirt and then tying it with an elastic band
This method is almost the same as when dyeing a t-shirt with tie dye. However, you don't need to tie a rubber band or twist the shirt in any specific way. Just knead or twist the shirt freely, then tie it with a rubber band.
Step 2. Mix bleach and water in a bucket
You will need a solution consisting of 50% water and 50% bleach. Mix water and bleach in a bucket.
Step 3. Dip the t-shirt in the bleach solution
Dip the shirt in the bleach solution and make sure it's completely submerged. Make sure the shirt absorbs the bleach solution well.
Step 4. Remove the shirt from the bleach solution and hang it up
Remove the shirt from the bleach solution, then remove the rubber band. After that, hang the shirt outside or on a clothesline so the shirt can dry.
Don't hang the T-shirt near anything that could be stained with bleach. Make sure the shirt is hung in a bleach safe place
Step 5. Spray a little bleach on the surface of the shirt to make the design more attractive
Once the t-shirt is hung, let it dry for 10-20 minutes, depending on how long you want the bleach to react. After that, prepare a few teaspoons of bleach and then spray it on the surface of the shirt.
You can do this several times to make the shirt more dimensional. Spray bleach, wait 10 minutes, then spray bleach again. After that, rinse and wash the shirt
Step 6. Rinse, wash and dry the t-shirt
When you're done letting the bleach react, soak the shirt in a bucket or sink filled with clean water. After that, wring out the shirt and put it in the washing machine. Select a normal wash cycle. When you're done, dry the shirt. When it's dry, you can wear the t-shirt!
Method 3 of 3: Use Bleach Safely and Get the Best Results
Step 1. Put on the shield
Bleach can cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and lungs. Bleach can also damage the color of clothes, carpets, furniture, and other objects. Therefore, wear protective glasses, gloves, old clothes before starting to use bleach.
- Don't forget to protect the floor with newspaper or paper towels so that it doesn't get bleached.
- If done outside, the bleach can be allowed to drip on the ground.
Step 2. Work in a well-ventilated room
Smelling bleach can irritate your lungs and can even cause headaches. Open the window and turn on the fan when working indoors.

It is important to use a colored shirt for this project. Bleaching a white shirt will only make it whiter. The darker the color of the shirt, the more striking the result will be.
