Animal-shaped towels are often used by cruise ship companies, B&Bs (room rentals), and hotels to make your stay memorable. Plus, the guests who use your bathroom will be impressed too! Follow these instructions to fold the towel into a swan shape.
Step
Step 1. Spread the towel horizontally
Be sure to spread the towel wide apart according to the instructions above.
Step 2. Fold the top two corners of the towel down and inward so they meet at the center of the towel
Keep in mind that the fold won't line up with the bottom edge because the towel isn't perfectly square.
Step 3. Roll the two outer edges of the towel towards the center
The result will look like the shape of the tip of an arrow.
Step 4. Fold the roll in a Z shape
Make sure the bottom two arrows are at the bottom of the letter Z, while the top ends are at the top.
Step 5. Arrange the Z-shaped towel, then squeeze the corners to form a curve
The towels should look like swans at this stage.
Step 6. Repeat the steps above to create a pair of swans with necks that form a heart symbol
Tips
- If you want to make a pair of swans, make sure the bath towels used are of the same thickness and size for best results.
- You can make baby swans using a hand towel. Try making a goose family using towels!
- A swan towel can be an attractive substitute for “7 Swans A Swimming” if you are giving someone a gift for the 12 Days of Christmas. Give 7 white bath towels, fold them into a swan shape, then arrange them in a hand fan-shaped position on the back according to the instructions above. Add a light blue hand towel to form the water underneath.
- You can also add a goose tail. A simple "paper hand fan" rolled up in a towel can be used - or make a triangular roll (like the one used for the body of a swan) using a hand towel and folding the two corners of the roll down underneath. Roll up the side of the towel slightly so that it is close to the previous fold. It will resemble a wing if placed on the goose's back (with the tip pointing backwards).
