Whether you're looking to make wrinkles, scrapes, and hammer cuts, or trying to look like zombies and fantasy characters, latex makeup is the best choice! Before you start creating your masterpiece, take some time to plan the look you want. After that, start experimenting with different techniques so you can create something amazing!

Method 1 of 4: Using Liquid Latex
Step 1. Shave the hair on the skin before applying liquid latex
As it dries, the liquid latex will stick to the hair underneath, making it painful to remove the makeup. If you can, shave the area clean so you can remove it easily once the latex dries.
Step 2. Coat the unshaven coat with vegetable oil or petrolatum
If you apply latex to areas that cannot be shaved, such as your eyebrows, try coating them with vegetable oil or petrolatum. This will help lubricate your hair and prevent you from being in pain when the latex is removed.
- You can use any type of vegetable oil, such as canola or olive oil.
- You can also apply lotion to the skin to make the process easier.
Step 3. Shake the latex bottle vigorously before applying makeup
Leave the bottle cap on, then shake the bottle for a few seconds. This will ensure that the latex is thoroughly mixed.
If the latex is not shaken thoroughly, the makeup will not set properly
Step 4. Apply a thin layer of liquid latex with a brush or sponge
After shaking the bottle, pour the contents into a bowl. Dip a brush or sponge into the bowl and apply the liquid latex to the area you want to apply makeup. Be careful and use only a small amount of the liquid as liquid latex dries very quickly.
Use a glass or plastic bowl so you can reuse it later
Step 5. Use a hairdryer or wait for the liquid latex to dry
Liquid latex will dry after exposure to body temperature for 5 to 10 minutes. However, you can also use a hairdryer to dry the latex makeup. Set the heat to low and hold the appliance about 12 cm from your skin. Once the latex dries, you can add a new coat or start decorating!
Step 6. Wash brushes and sponges after use with warm soapy water
The latex that dries on the brush will make the bristles become stiff so they can't be used anymore. Pause after creating a layer of latex to rinse the brush with soapy water.
You can rinse it under running tap water and wash it with soap, or prepare a bowl of soapy water and soak the brush in it
Method 2 of 4: Creating the Desired Look
Step 1. Make the skin appear wrinkled by stretching the muscles before the latex dries
After applying latex makeup, immediately stretch the muscles in the cheeks tightly. Relax the cheek muscles after the latex dries. This will create wrinkles and lines in the drying latex.
- You can do the same for other body parts. Just tighten and relax certain muscles.
- You can also make dotted wrinkles to create a more defined appearance of wrinkles.
Step 2. Use spirit gum and a tissue or cotton ball to create a fake scar
The spirit gum will help adhere the tissue to your skin and the tissue will create a wound-like texture. Rub the liquid latex over it and let it sit until it dries.
Step 3. Apply tissue or toilet paper before applying latex to make the wound wet or fake incision.
Place a piece of tissue flat on top of the skin and hold it with one hand. Once arranged as desired, make small incisions in the tissue with a toothpick or tweezers, then pour the liquid latex over the skin and tissue.
- The liquid latex will create a tissue on your skin.
- Install a new tissue and pour in additional liquid latex to get the look you want, and make sure everything is in place.
- To make a scar or cut, use a long piece of latex and let it dry. After that, roll the ends and make a new latex layer on top.
Step 4. Experiment with different types of wounds to create a zombie-like look
Try to combine bite marks, scratches, and wet cuts. The combination of several effects will make your zombie costume look more realistic and detailed.
Method 3 of 4: Decorating Latex
Step 1. Use foundation to blend the latex with the rest of your makeup
After the latex dries, spread the makeup onto the skin with a loose or liquid foundation. Pat the foundation over the latex and skin in direct contact. This will make your skin and latex makeup look neat!
Step 2. Use eyeshadow and eyeshadow to create a line or shadow on the latex
Using shadows is a good way to make bold lines or add small details. Eye shadows are available in a wide variety of colors, some of which even appear glittery or shimmery. These shades can be applied to latex makeup for added effect and color.

Method 4 of 4: Cleaning Liquid Latex
Step 1. Peel the plastic sheet from your skin
As long as the skin doesn't hurt when the latex is removed, you can peel it directly from your face or body. The object will peel off in large pieces.
Step 2. Loosen the remaining latex with warm water
The heat will loosen the liquid latex and make the peeling process easier. Peel off any loose latex.
Step 3. Wipe the latex with soap, water and a washcloth
Wash off any residual makeup or latex with soap and water. After that, rub the washcloth into the makeup in small circular motions. This method will remove the remaining latex on the skin. Pat the skin dry with a dry towel.
Step 4. Use soap and warm water to remove the liquid latex from the hair
Take a shower, then lubricate your hair with warm soapy water. You can use a bath cloth or loofah to help get rid of the latex. Move the fabric in a circular motion to loosen the latex.
If you're still having trouble cleaning the latex, try dabbing some rubbing alcohol on the latex surface. Use a cotton ball or cotton ball to rub rubbing alcohol into the latex. This will loosen the latex on your skin

- Do an allergy test before applying latex makeup. Liquid latex is safe to use, but allergies and skin problems sensitive to latex are common cases. If there is no red rash or allergic reaction, you can use liquid latex.
