Method 1 of 3: Building Trust
Step 1. Give your cat time to get used to her new home
The best way to make a cat comfortable and willing to come out of hiding is to give it time to adapt. Most cats take a few weeks to adapt, but some take up to a month or two. During this time, never force him to come out of hiding.
- Do not chase or hold your cat, especially during the adaptation period.

Keep the cage in the same room as the cat and place food in the cage so the cute animal isn't afraid to get in there

If you have to take your cat to the vet or want to get him out of hiding quickly, try baiting him with a snack from the store or canned tuna. You can also use toys, such as goose feathers tied with string, to get your cat to come out and forget about her shyness.
