Step
Method 1 of 3: Mango Body Butter
Step 1. Prepare the ingredients
Mango body butter is a thick cream that is rich in nutrients for the skin and has a refreshing tropical aroma. You can buy the ingredients at convenience stores or online stores. The following are the ingredients needed to make about 150 grams of mango body butter:
- 60 grams cocoa butter
- 60 grams of mango fat
- 2 teaspoons shea butter
- 1 teaspoon wheat germ oil
- 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
- 10 drops mango essential oil
Step 2. Melt the ingredients together
Prepare a double pan, or make a similar device by filling a few inches of water in a large saucepan and placing the smaller pot in it. Place all ingredients except the essential oil in a small saucepan. Turn on low heat and heat the mixture in a saucepan, stirring occasionally until all the ingredients are combined and the texture is smooth without lumps.
Be sure not to heat the ingredients too quickly as this can ruin the different textures of the fat. Melt everything slowly while stirring so as not to burn
Step 3. Remove the mixture from the stove and let it cool to room temperature
Allow the mixture to cool briefly before adding the essential oil.
Step 4. Add essential oil
Add 10 drops of mango essential oil. If you like body butter with a stronger aroma, add a drop or two more. On the other hand, if you are sensitive to strong smells, just add 5 drops.
Step 5. Beat the body butter mixture
For a light and fluffy texture, beat the mixture in a hand blender until it forms a cream.
Step 6. Put the body butter in a small jar or can
Mark the body butter container with a label. Store at room temperature and use for up to 6 months.
Method 2 of 3: Body Butter Hemp Oil and Honey
Step 1. Prepare the ingredients
Hemp oil body butter has a very natural scent and is perfect for use on dry skin in the summer. Flax oil will nourish the skin, while honey is a natural moisturizer with antibacterial properties. Here are the ingredients you will need:
- 3 tablespoons coconut fat (coconut butter)
- 1 tablespoon beeswax
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
- 1 tablespoon castor oil
- 1 tablespoon hemp oil
- 10 drops of any essential oil you like
Step 2. Melt the coconut fat and beeswax together
Prepare a double pan, or make a similar device by filling a large pot a few inches of water and then placing a small pot in it. Heat a saucepan over medium-high heat until the water in it boils. Place 3 tablespoons of coconut fat and 1 tablespoon of beeswax in a small saucepan. Stir until the mixture is both melted. Continue to heat the mixture for about 15 minutes to prevent lumps. Make sure to melt the mixture slowly so it doesn't burn.
Step 3. Add honey and oil
Stir the mixture occasionally while pouring in 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon sunflower oil, 1 tablespoon castor oil, and 1 tablespoon flax oil. Keep stirring until everything is evenly mixed.
Step 4. Cool the mixture and add the essential oil
Allow the mixture to cool for 10 minutes then add 15-20 drops of the essential oil of your choice.
Step 5. Put the body butter in a jar or can
Use a spoon to scoop the hemp oil body butter into a small, clean container.
Method 3 of 3: Orange Body Butter
Step 1. Prepare the ingredients
This simple body butter can be made in the microwave. So you don't need a double pan. Prepare the following materials:
- 1/2 cup grapeseed oil (or almond oil)
- 2 tablespoons of beeswax
- 2 tablespoons of distilled water
- 10 drops lemon, lime, or orange essential oil
Step 2. Heat the oil and beeswax
Place 1/2 cup of grapeseed oil and 2 tablespoons of beeswax in a heat-resistant glass jar or measuring cup. Put it in the microwave and heat it for 10-15 seconds. Stir, and repeat until the oil and beeswax melts.
- Be sure to heat briefly in the microwave to prevent the mixture from getting too hot and scorching.
- Do not try to mix the ingredients in a plastic container, as they may also dissolve into the ingredients.
Step 3. Beat the mixture with a hand blender
Add 2 tablespoons of filtered or distilled water, while pouring in 10 drops of orange, lemon, or lime essential oil. The texture of the body butter will thicken and turn white when whipped. Continue to beat the mixture until it forms a cream and thickens.
The process of mixing oil with water is called emulsification, which is similar to making whipped cream or mayonnaise. You may have to whisk the mixture long enough to combine. So keep whisking until the texture is just right
Step 4. Put the body butter in a jar or can
A used lip balm container can also be used. Use body butter on dry skin as needed.
Tips
- Slightly reduce the amount of cocoa butter or add a few more drops of aloe vera gel if the result is too thick.
- While mango or peach essential oil is preferred, you can add any essential oil you like. Some good choices include rose, orange, or geranium essential oils.
