Hiding PowerPoint slides is a good idea when you need to present something quickly, and don't want to show a specific slide but also don't want to delete the slide. PowerPoint allows you to easily hide any number of slides in your presentation.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Hiding Slides
Step 1. Open the PowerPoint file
Since you want to hide a slide, in this article you will assume that you have already created a PowerPoint file. Find and open the presentation file.
Step 2. Select the slides you want to hide
On the left side of your computer screen, you will see a list of slides in your PowerPoint file. Click the slide that you want to hide.
When you have selected a slide, a box will appear around it
Step 3. Click Slide Show
On the menu tab near the top of the PowerPoint file window, select Slide Show. This tab is used to manage everything about how your presentation file is displayed.
Step 4. Click Hide Slide
In the options under the menu tab Slide Show, find and click option Hide Slide. This option will be near the top of the PowerPoint file window.
- When you have successfully hidden a slide, there will be a slash on the number of the hidden slide.
- Repeat the steps above to hide the other slides.
Step 5. Show the slide again
When you want to re-show the slides that you have hidden, repeat the steps above. The slash on the hidden slide number will disappear.
Method 2 of 2: Accessing Slides That Have Been Hidden
Step 1. Create a link to the slide you have hidden
You may need to create a link to a slide that you have hidden so that you can still access it during presentation mode. This is because sometimes returning to PowerPoint file editing mode during a presentation can be embarrassing.
Step 2. Click Insert
Click the menu tab Insert it's at the top of the PowerPoint file window. This tab serves to add slides, images, videos and others.
Step 3. Click the link that has been created
Mark the text you want to turn into a link. This text is what you will click to access the slides that you have hidden during presentation mode, so choose the location of the text wisely according to your needs. You can add text on the last slide of your presentation such as "Additional Information," and create a link from that text.
Step 4. Select Hyperlinks
Click option Hyperlink which is under the menu tab Insert.
- choose Place in this document when a new window containing a menu of options appears. The options are on the left.
- Select the slide you are hiding and click OK which is at the bottom right.
