Grilled onions are delicious and very easy to make. Besides being delicious without any additives, you can add a flavor that blends perfectly with onions. Onions can be baked in the oven or pan. Here will be shown several options.
Ingredients
Whole roasted onions
- Onions, fresh and peeled
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Fresh salt or sea salt
Balsam roasted onions
- 4 onions, medium size
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Balsam vinegar
- Fresh salt and pepper, to taste
Rosemary Roasted Onion
- 3 onions, medium size
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
- Fresh salt and pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Wok roasted onions
- Onions (as much as needed)
- Oil (optional)
Weber roasted onions
- Whole Onion
- Oil
- Salt and pepper
Step
Method 1 of 5: Whole Roasted Onions
Step 1. Heat the Oven to 425 F/220 C
Step 2. Clean the skin on the onion if necessary
Wipe with a damp cloth to remove dust.
Step 3. Pour a layer of oil on the baking sheet
Put the peeled onions in the tray.
You can also skip the oil and add the onions right away to the baking sheet
Step 4. Sprinkle a little salt
This step is optional.
Step 5. Bake for 60-75 minutes
If the onion skin turns a dark golden brown color and there are cracks in it, the onion is done. If you cut it with a knife, the onion will be soft inside.
Step 6. Serve
Slice the top of each onion. Place on a serving plate along with other foods.
Method 2 of 5: Balsam Roasted Onions
Step 1. Heat the Oven to 425ºF/220ºC
Step 2. Peel the onions
Cut each onion in half.
Step 3. Brush the oil over the onions
Place on paper or baking sheet. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the onions.
Step 4. Put it in the oven
Bake for 20-30 minutes. The onions are done when they are golden brown and soft.
Step 5. Remove from oven
Before serving and while still hot, sprinkle with balsam vinegar.
Method 3 of 5: Roasted Onion Rosemary
Step 1. Heat the Oven to 400 F/200 C
Step 2. Peel the onions
Chop onions.
Step 3. Make the sauce
In a large bowl, mix the lemon juice, mustard and dried rosemary. Season with salt and pepper.

When well mixed, add olive oil and mix again.
Step 4. Put the onion pieces in the sauce bowl
Close completely.
Step 5. Arrange the covered onion strips on the paper or baking sheet
Step 6. Put it in the oven
Bake for 30-45 minutes or until the onions are lightly browned and tender.
Step 7. Remove from oven
Season and serve.
Method 4 of 5: Frying Grilled Onions
This recipe is useful for Mexican and South American cuisine.
Step 1. Peel the onions
Cut into four pieces.
Step 2. Add to heavy pan
You can choose to dry roast or add a little oil.
Step 3. Heat slowly over very low heat
Turn the onions regularly.
Step 4. Remove the onions when they are completely browned
Step 5. Add to plate as recommended by recipe
Method 5 of 5: Roasted Weber Onions Or Grilled Over Fire
Step 1. Fill the grill basket with whole or chopped onions
Step 2. Add oil
Add until it coats the onions well.
Step 3. Season with salt, and pepper if desired
Step 4. Make sure the onions don't burn
Put the charcoal on the opposite side of the onion. (Indirect heat).
