A trapped chest is an object made using a chest and a tripwire hook. Trap chests can be used to create traps for your base, or create a machine that works when the chest is opened. Traps chests are almost no different from regular chests, except that there is a faint orange circle around the latch. Apart from emitting a redstone signal when opened, trap chests react like normal chests.

Step 1. Gather the required materials
Step 2. Make a chest by making a full circle out of a wooden plank on a crafting table
Step 3. Make a wire hook by placing a stick in the center of the box, an iron ingot on top, and a wood plank at the bottom
Step 4. Place the new chest in the center of the box, and the hooks to the left or right of it
Step 5. Drag the trap chest into your inventory
Tips
- If you're not sure if a chest has been trapped, place some red rock powder next to it. If the powder connects to the crate, then the trap has been set.
- You must place the hook wire to the right or left of the crate. Placing it above or below the chest will not make the trap chest work.
